umm.... is this a joke? because I'm not laughing. :? .

what is that :?

not very good, it looks rushed, and messy. I'd say its just unfinished..

Try making it smaller, so you can spend more time getting the details right, colours are aweful IMO, and the backgrounds looks like a 10 second job...

Does look like you posted it for a joke, but if it isn't then I'd suggest work on a smaller canvas, sketch out more ideas, look up other peoples work, just don't post until your sure you'll get a positive response.. You need a greater sense of self critisism, I've not been proud of anything I've done, all I see is the mistakes..

how can you have been around these forums for 4 months now and be proud of that?

heh thats no excuse, it looks like you didn't even try.. If you spent ages on it, tried to be detailed as possible and made a few mistakes it'd show and you'd get a good response and with some crits you'd come back with a better 2nd sig.

Man, just you's the pencil tool. When u good then use the penicl way.

This is your 1st attempt at what.. is that supposed to be a pixel sig, because it isnt nearly that. Its a scaned pic that was maybe not horrable before, and then you scibled on it. But im guessing you posted this for some cc, so heres some...

Make an acual pixel thing, which means draw it in pixels, not scan a drawing and scribble on it in paint

But congradulations on creating a new kind of graphic art

"Teh scan-scribble"

Just currious, how old are you? It reminds me of an 8 year old's drawing, so, if your that young (even then...) you have an excuse. I guess.

Stop getting angry by the way , because to be brutuly honest, I don't see how anyone could be "proud" of that.

It's never really good to post your first attempt. You may be quite proud, but some people will be upfront and say they don't think it looks good and it could discourage you from wanting to continue.

The picture looks very flat, and in all honesty, it looks quite rushed. The clothes need to take on the shape of the body under them. You should learn a bit about symmetry and proportion. Watch the way peoples' clothes move as they move. This will help you to better learn how to visualize and draw the folds in clothing, and make it look more realistic. Also pay attention to the shadows (no matter how big or small) the clothes make as they fold. The guy's head is much too big for his body, while his feet are quite small.

His hands don't look like hands at all. I will admit that I find hands quite hard to draw, since they have so many ways they can move. But, practice makes perfect.

It looks like you scanned a drawing and colored it. While there is nothing wrong with that, the lines that you did not outline are too light and make too large of a contrast with the other lines in the drawing. This makes it look sloppy. Take some time and define some lines you think need emphasis. Your coloring job is a bit sloppy as well. There is quite a bit of white space that needs accounting for.

If you want to keep the bunny ears, try making them a different color other than the EXACT same shade of black you used to make the robe and cape. His cape could also use some more length and definately some more motion since it looks as though he is moving toward the viewer.

The road he is moving on looks good. It looks like you have an ok sense of depth, but the rest of the background, could use a little more time.

This is a good first attempt, and I hope you won't completely give up on drawing and creating art. But, practice, practice, practice! Anyone can draw, anyone can color something, but it takes alot of practice and dedication for your work to truly catch one's eye and stir one's emotions. It's very good to remember that the way you draw something decides the motion in which the viewer's eye will move across your work.

Don't be discouraged. Take what people have said about your work into account and use it to improve. The best thing you can do as an artist and even as a person is learn how to take criticism.

Too add a bit to what Knives said:

Look at stuff in real life, look at real pictures. Do you look like the guy in your picture? Of course not. You should always set out to get your character's as realistic as possible, at first (you can develop a style later), but a few tips:

1. Grab a picture off the internet, or magazine, whatever. Sit down at your desk, with it next to you, and try and copy it as much as you can in lineart (no tracing!) this way, you will learn how to look at stuff in terms of lines and color, and more so in 2D, and your hand will become steadier as well.

2. Just keep practicing! I usualy find that before I drew I used to do some random scribbles on a piece of paper. Circles, Spheres, whatever, just to get my brain thinking. Think of them as warmups. Later when you are better you will be able to just look at something and draw it.

Finaly, do take critisim. Even though it may sound mean and ugly, take it in. Yes, people can be very mean spirited, I my self am truthful when I say that it's a very rushed, sloppy, kindergardener-like drawing.

Also, don't give up. Learning to draw, especialy when your older, is hard! I started drawing when I was 5 probaly, just tracing sonic stuff, but I moved into drawing with a reference. Even now I still need a reference, but the thing is, it takes time.
