Blaze The Movie Fan
I used to take with my prayer potions when fighting them, but since prayer no longer totally protects me from any move I sold all my prayer potions, and I think I did the right decision. I'm not gonna melee them anymore as it probably is a bad idea. But I still would like to know, how different is it to fight them now than it was? The way I used to fight them was with crush on my dragon battleaxe, which worked fine, while wearing black dragonhide. Obviously that won't work anymore, so I think the best way to fight them now is through ranged with a black salamander. Sy_Accursed
If you thought stab worked fine you were sorely deluded; pre-eoc waterfiends had very high defence to all but crush, enough to make a noticeable dent in dps to even the highest level weapons. But anyway in eoc land they are weak to bolts. Blaze The Movie Fan
I apologize, I misremembered. I didn't use stab from my dragon battleaxe, I used the crush style. So basically I fight them now the same way I fight greater demons now? Alright, cool, thanks for the help.

Autist
The few odd slayer tasks as I've gotten them, I have used SS and drygores, seemed pretty fast to me.
Major Dash
But yes. The Black Salamander method would be adequate given your playstyle. Just remember to use the highest level ranging gear that you can to beef up your defenses. “I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”“Do you have any regrets?”“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”“Mmmhmm.”

If I recall correctly, sara sword on crush still outperformed the chaotic rapier (and chaotic maul, for that matter). However, goliath gloves from dominion tower were better than sara sword, i.e., goliath > sara sword > zspear. Also, OP, prayer pots are hella cheap in eoc and combat stat boosting prayers are absolutely worth using, even for poorer folk. You should buy back some prayer potions and always use them during combat. noobs crowding hill giants? not on my watch

Having it active constantly while fighting is recommended. Using Super Ranging Potions, especially while fighting rather high-leveled monsters such as these, is also recommended. At about 3.5k per dose, repotting every 5 minutes, it costs about 700gp per minute to use them.I'd even recommend you to use Prayer Renewal Potions, which give you a visible timer that you can time drinking your Super Ranging Potions by. Prayer Renewals are themselves quite useful as well, giving more Prayer points than Prayer Potions, but slowly and constantly, over time.
