Cool. I'll see you maybe tonight, probaly tomorrow.

Just finishing the tutorial. No wonder you start in a university, there is so much to learn!

My nick in game is Leffer for anyone who wants to add me.

i need to restragize or something, currently i am manufacturing. i am making imicus frigates, for the gallente race, and it would cost me 83073 per spaceship if i bought the materials. the most i could sell for 65000, after taxes thats just under 60000  . im just making a profit now because i am mining and refining my own materials, but id make a bit more and save time just selling what i mine. and since you dont gain experience from doing stuff, its more or less pointless to continue the manufacturing part. i want to make my blue prints better, but all of the services are full. im definently going to have to join a corporation, small buisnesses just dont cut it in this game :P

Yeah it's quite hard, as in the real world, to start a buisness yourself lol.

I'll see if you can join the 'corp i'm in if you want indy. Kind of a laid back one, not many members at all, but we are doing well.

I'll add you Phil. And yeah, there are a crap load of stuff to learn lol. I'm still figuring crap out =P.

i meant to talk to you about that, ill be on after school tonight. about 6 hours from now. thought i was getting used to pretty much everything, but its so open that hardly anybody is doing the exact same thing as you. turns out you have to buy most of the skills before you can train them lol. theres just a ton of stuff, so much to do... i cant even write a comprehensible post because im thinking about cost/time ratios and stuff

Lol I know what you mean. I'm getting ready to train Amarr frigate Level IV, so I can get like cruiser lvl III or IV. Got the skill learning, and now learning a skill to increse perception. (so that frigate/cruiser skills train faster).

I just had to post this. Look at that bounty on the guys head  . (found it today warping around lol.)

He must have realy made someone mad  .

Heh I saw that bounty too.

I've gotten a bit further into the game now. Finished the tutorial and done a mission or two.

What would you say I should do now then? Keep doing missions? It's pretty annoying when you have to jump about 6 places and back just to deliver something.

Which skills should I be training up first?

One annoying thing with the game, it keeps randomly crashing on me with no reason. About every hour or two it crashes. :?

sig2ho7.jpg

i had it crash on my twice in an hour yesterday, when i was docking somewhere. hasnt happened since, so i dont know what the problem was.

the first skills you want to train up are the learning skills, they make all the other skills train faster, and ups your attributes. probably should ask someone who knows what they are talking about (i. e. not me :P ) to see exactly which ones are best.

if you dont have a shuttle, buy a cheap, cheap shuttle. they are only used to transport between places, but have a top speed of around 500 instead of 250. finish off bram's missions, and youll end up with a decent amount of cash and an implant you can sell for around 500k. they are all transport missions, think you go through 0.6 space on the final mission. i never got shot at.

after that, use your imagination :D fly into some deadspace on suicide missions and see what happens. make sure you have insurance and a clone though haha.

Yeah, i'd finish the storyline missions first, gives you some nice starting cash.

After that, space is your limit. Do whatever you want to. :)

that Salvador Serpati guy is just a guy the devs use for events and stuff, not too long ago there was an event where he stole a gallente titan. According to the storyline he is the head of the Serpentis npc pirate faction (who you may or may not have run into yet depending on your area).

As for what to train first, I would say get comfortable with using the best frigate of your race then go for all the learning skills to 3 or 4 except for the charisma one, at this point in time it's pretty useless. In the end sometimes it's just best to take a look through some of the skills in the market and see which ones you think you'd benefit most from. Engineering and Electronics are also nice to get up, as they increase the power grid and cpu of your ship making it a bit easier to fit what you want on it.

Yeah I always just got skills related to what I wanted to use. I saw a sheild upgrade, got sheild upgrade skill, ect.

and cool. :D

Heh you thought that other bounty is big? Found a few more.

I know they are part of the stroyline but it would be pretty cool if it was real.

Anyway I've bought the best type of gallente frigate, but I have to wait till tomorrow night until I can use it since had a skill to train for it. :(

sig2ho7.jpg

nope, most of the people on there actually are real players, the Salvador guy is the only "fake" one i know of. If you want, next time you're in a station click on the missions button on the right then go to the bounty tab, then the most wanted tab and you can see all the people with huge bounties on their heads.

I try'd to get the trial some months ago of it, but it didn't really work.

Also, a other nice game is RF-Online, which has the same Graphics render as EVE online and its something like WoW.

I won a free copy of that game in a drawing and played it all of 10 minutes before I got bored and quit

Interesting story about a big scam :o

Yeah I read it before, amazing realy what you can do in the game.

Screwy, I heard RF-Online was bad.

that was intersting, very hypocritical of the guy though. if anyone ever did anything like that to me, i could be pretty pissed.

Heh, stuff like that happens in the game. why you should never let anyone you don't know much into a large corperation like that :) .

I read that scam story a while back, just as good the second time around :)

I know the price. I pay it gladly.

If I were to start playing and get my hands on 100M ISK what would be the best ship to buy

Edit: Looking at the main EVE site I'm thinking a Battleship? How long would it take to gain the skills to operate the higher level ships?

Starting from fresh, you could probaly get all the skills and skills to use the weapons for it.. in I dunno, a month maybe? (roughly, maybe few weeks.)

Battleships take a lot of skills, they are kind of the "best of the best" ships. Except for tier 2 ones. :P .

How would you get your hand on 100M? >_>.
