A question about spring cleaner.

Featured Replies

So many people have recommended a "spring cleaner", and I'd gladly get it.

But the problem is it's untradable. To my knowledge the only way to get it is through treasure hunter. But I would need to pay a lot of real life money to get a bunch of keys, that's the problem. I'm not a trillionaire, if I spent too much money on RuneScape, I would become bankrupt in no time.

So how do I get that spring cleaner? I want it, but I don't know how to get it without spending too much real life money, which I won't, since being bankrupt is something I wanna avoid.

Just do your two daily spins until you get one.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Treasure Hunter, not Treasure Chest.

There is no other way to get it but through Treasure Hunter.

Whether you spend money is entirely up to you and Help & Advice can't possibly help you with that. This information is readily available on the wiki if you took even a moment to look for it.

I did go to the treasure hunter chest wiki page, and I have come to the conclusion that outside the daily ones, the way I get these keys is totally random.

Ah well, I hope I'll get spring cleaner eventually. I somehow doubt it though.

You can do surveys and other things from the earn keys page. You can also buy bonds with in game money and convert them to spins.

First of all, I don't trust surveys, they are almost always scam.

Secondly, bonds are at a ridiculously high price, eight million? Yeah, I'd rather buy something more useful for that money.

I know bonds could give me treasure keys, but I doubt they would be enough to justify the price of eight million. In fact I think the prices in total I'd get from these would be worth much much less.

I'd be very careful with surveys - they can contain malware or send you in circles, at least when I tried it. Hopefully someday you'll get it from daily spins, but unless you spend real life money on bonds for spins, or ingame money on them, there isn't a whole lot you can do to increase your chances (as of yet).

You could watch videos for keys I guess.

You're supposed to get a popup that lets you watch a video for an extra key sometimes...but I haven't had that opportunity. Maybe it got discontinued?

You could also go on a questing binge, 2 keys per quests can really add up sometimes.

Can you perhaps lead me to the RS wiki page that gives that information? Because I can't find it.

I remember it was an in-game thing promoted at one time, but sadly can't find a link right now. The closest thing is the official wiki page here:

Supersonic Ads are one of our partners, and they are helping us give you the chance to earn some extra RuneCoins in Solomon's General Store, as well as the chance to earn some Keys for Treasure Hunter. You can do this by engaging with a number of different offers or adverts. These could be something like watching a video, completing a questionnaire, subscribing to a service or installing an app. By getting involved in activities like this, you’ll be able to earn both RuneCoins and Keys in a new and exciting way!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it possible to buy treasure keys with runecoins?

No, the only use for RuneCoins is to buy cosmetic stuff in Solomon's shop.

I could have sworn it was available in Solomon's shop, must have mistaken it for something else.

Can't put my finger on what I could have mistaken it for though.
