Oy_the_Great
Well, I'm pretty fond of a good movie that requires us using those grey cells we call a brain, so I love a good detective movie. And a good detective should not be predictable, obviously, but it should also contain a story that leaves you wondering and stunned with a certain feeling of respect for the person it's all about. And most movies don't have that; they're more or less predictable or are so damn far-fetched that it simply isn't realistic anymore. After watching The Usual Suspects I couldn't be more satisfied; IMHO this is the perfect detective movie. *spoiler alert!* It took me until the very last few minutes before I began to understand who really was Keyser Soze. I figured it out when Roger was asked why he didn't save Keaton when he could. He hesitated and starting then, the story he hung up began to show its flaws. I loved seeing the cop baffled we he too realises that this cripple 'dumb' man Roger performed to be, actually turns out to be the genius Keyser is. *here endeth the spoilers* I loved the movie, from the first minute till the last. If there's anyone who can tell me there's more of these great detective movies, please don't hesitate telling me. Such movies are the ones that make me the filmfreak I am. Mr_Putter
I donno...TUS is really more of a crime movie. L.A. Confidential, Chinatown, Maltese Falcon...All these are good movies, but not like top 10. Se7en is AMAZING, if you haven't seen it, do! and also, you might wanna make the text real small, because people's (ie. my) eyes have a tendency to wander and pick up major plotpoints and ruin movies. I've seen it already, but you might still wanna make it in small print.
rocketman089
I don't watch too many, but I'd say Se7en ranks up there (if that's really a detective movie). When I think detective, I think cops, murder, and stuff like that, so I'll just go ahead and saw the Saw movies (yeah, I know they're not that kind of detective). Oy_the_Great
Lol, you guys both posted almost exactely the same comments on the same time. And I've seen Se7en, only just recently. I even made a post about it somewhere in this forum too. It was good, very good even but still I think it's predictable and it doesn't really qualify for detective either. Oh, I've made the text white, most ppl use a whitey background here I assume so they'll just have to highlight it to read it. indy500fan
how your spoilers look on my screen: not really a problem, i noticed it because its still a little different. and ive already seen that movie anyways, and its probably going to be my pick for favorite detective movie. small text is better though, i usually just leave a lot of empty space though. Mercifull
Serves you right for using sublameblack hehe. Its pointless to use colour for large bodies of text because they all look different to different people. You should make is size 1 font instead. How2PK
I couldn't care less if a 'detective' or 'noir' depends what you would like to call it is predictable, it's all about atmosphere. M, The Third Man and Touch of Evil are great. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
