Cool update ideas

Featured Replies

I just had an idea for two new areas. You know how in the desert you have to use waterskins and you can buy robes to keep you cool? Well my updates use to the same concept. First, an ice area, and second, an underwater area.

Ice area

For the ice area it can be that regular armour freezes and your character gets to cold and will eventually die. To counter this they can have special suits that have built in heaters that you have to recharge by an NPC or buy heater rechargers that only have so much power and have to be recharged themselves, but you can carry a bunch and don't have to find an NPC as often.

Underwater area

For the underwater area you can use scuba equipment but you have to recharge your oxygen tank. You can buy multiple tanks and switch them out and then have NPCs who can recharge them for you. There can be new monsters like mermaids, and sunken ships you can 'search' for treasure. Maybe even an Atlantis like town.

What do you all think of these updates? Anything you would add to them?

I think I like the underwater area because I'd like to see another elemental giant besides fire giants

Does the the ice area with trolls count? They could just expand that and add new equip to counter the effect. I like the underwater idea, gives a use to that mudskipper equipment

only problem is in the times runescape is in Im pretty sure they didnt have heaters or scuba gear/oxygen tanks...actually Im positive they didn't, but other than that I kinda liked the Atlantis type city idea.

Last time I had a history lesson (few days ago) I never noticed magic or dragons or anything like that back in ancient times but you never know... I might just be a loon...

Me, too.

fan of her's.
You know what I hate? People putting an apostrophe on a personal pronoun. STOP IT.

Hmm, I like the ideas, but they need to be expanded upon a bit, maybe?

First of all, no to the "armor heater". It just sounds...silly.

"I just got the FurnaceMaster 4000 installed in my rune armor and now I never have to worry about my joints freezing up!!!"

However, a magical ring, amulet, or potion might work instead. If a ring or amulet (or offer both) is used, it could be charged, and one charge is drained for every...10 minutes? or portion thereof that is spent in the area. The device will show how many charges are remaining, and only works when equipped. You can also allow the device to be charged and re-charged up to a certain maximum (they are bought with less than the max charge) by a particular npc. You could carry multiple rings/amulets/potions, to extend your stay if you were worried about it.

Similar thoughts on the underwater area.

Overall, it's a good start to the idea, keep going on it.:)

I never knew Runescape was the 20th Century

"The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

well actually there are hints within the game for both a new ice area and underwater area.

the ice idea is cool, but it reminds me of fatigue and sleeping bag, and if you know what im talking about.. DEATH TO BOTH OF THEM!!!!

Water idea is sweet. water elemental or something like that is cool.

I like the idea of a water area. Like a subterreanean cave or something. You would gain passage via the cave..."Waterbirth Isle" or something and then exit into a water area. Maybe a spell that shields you from drown.

As for the ice area. They already have one, and it isn't that large. They need to make higher degrees of the ice effect but no protection against it. Or...if they do they need to make extremely high damaging monsters in the area. Ice effect would continue to drain prayer and special attack though. The ice area is supposed to be hard. Do you want everything in the game handed to you? "Hi Mr. Pk'er...want my free phat set and dragon chain?"

I'd like to this comming :D

BigChad...I am sure you will have heard of Leonardo DaVinci, who did in fact invent a scuba suit,he also lived in the right time frame.

To make his scuba suit his charts show he wold have had to(it was first made in the 21st century,400 years later)treat pig leather(make a use for them) with fish oil(so water rolls right off),the suit would be completely water tight. To breathe he would have used long bamboo "straws", to go deeper multiple

straws joined with more treated pig leather would have been used,(he also would have put springs in the joints so the pressure wouldn't make them fold)

so the flexible joints wouldn't make them fill with water there would be a bellows on the surface(firmly held, even bolted down)with which a fresh air supply would be maintained.

As for keeping warm...how about a metal backpack with a fire in it(wood supply needed)

MY first idea....this could possibly take months..... is to give a house for everybody in runescape and only they are ablt to open the door of their house.....The houses should be whatever aparments looked like in Mideval Times..(sorry i can't spell)..Only you can invite people in your house.....you would right click on the person who wanted in and press accept visitor or guest...or even friend..... and a new skill called carpentry and there could be stone floors and carpet to choose from...also ne shops with stuff for the house....I know this is probably something that will take a while so i will just go to my smaller ideas...

A new sword called the Celtic Sword...show the quiver for arrows....Celtic Cuffs.....Celtic armor....(just celtic stuff only for members......) OH!!! hold two daggers at a time ( think about it ) Twin Elven daggers...white shadow stuff.....for those new people maybe you should think about making brass weapons...... If you don't start putting new stuff on there realy fast people are going to start getting bored....oh!! candle magic...a separate wizard tower a member version one.. gold ore made dagger called the gladiator.....maybe a quest weapon.......and Bascinets (its a type of face armor)

time for my axe ideas.....The black dragon battle axe...finding tomahawks in the water nad putting them on a stick......quest for an axe called the exacutioner....(can't spell sorry)....Dragon slayer battle axe... (and dragon slayer shield)

more monsters and things to pickpocket........................aLOT MORE QUESTS! Of course you will probably do that after you make new stuff...

I love the idea of the racoons and squrills (can't spell) that yall updated....but i thought of something better....There should be a more waterfalls and meadows...well this isn't better actually...and (like the kitten quest) i think we should have more quest that you receive pets on....even maybe nets to catch raccons and squrills( once agin can't spell) with and cook them....

another ides i have that i think wouldn't be as hard would be maybe a slight more upgrade with the stats appearence....... also...of course.....more items...weapons

instead of stuff that sounds outside reality for runescapes style, how about:

cold gear:

Parkas

Thick Pants

Boots

(finally a use for fur)

underwater:

Amulet of waterbreath (self explanitory)

Weights (worn in boots and gloves slots; add weight so you sink to the ocean floor and can walk around effectively)

also in terms of reality, any underwater areas would be unaccessable to non-compatible items (plate-mail, bows, 2 handed swords and anything too clumsy to be useful in the extreme drag enviroment you finnd underwater) you could however bring other items that are not hindered (spears, daggers, anything light and streamlined)

Nice Idea

As for weapons underwater make Some "OceanFied" ones.

Like Blue Long sword (Not one of our regular longswords either those look so stupid make it look kinda like Fremmy Blade) Stats would be +85 Str

And 65 Att. to weild You're probally saying o look a really high weapon with quite low requirements The drawback is you cant use out of water or it will be too light and you will fling it away

(this is all i could think of at the moment 8) )

Or by doing a quest for a wizard your reward would be that he casts a spell around your "regular" weapons so you can use them underwater but you cant use any 2h and the weapons would slower

And as for any "blue" weapon's you would have most except 2h types

They would be a drop from monsters OR you can do quests/mini games like in thaazar(sp?)

thats my ideas anyway :P

Yeah think you're right, could just wear big fur coats tho insetad, even make them craftable from fur!!!! giving fur an actual use!!!

Oh wait somebody already said this :(

Meh

Along with the underwater weapons you've gotta have tridents! Might actually be a useful spear thats actually any good!
