i_D_r
i pretty much found out the gem/half key/half shield ratios i made a post a long time ago. its something like X is probability of a saphire X/4 = emerald = Y Y/4 = ruby = Z etc. i forgot all the exact numbers, but what I did was camp at earths for a month and I tallied all half keys and gems, and i devised a ratio formula that was fairly accurate. but im pretty sure it's different for all NPCs, because some npcs drop gems more often than others. frogact
Only sage advice I can give is the drop will come when it's the last thing you expect. Anyway, Oergg is right, it's all moot because the obby is better. jfroggy
dmartin04
err thing is they are rune meds.. we are talking about d half shield with like 1 in 24k chance of getting.. bit different Well i definately realize that a left half is way different than a rune med...i was just using that to show that the ring of wealth definately does have an effect on drops...i think it's pretty hard to deny that. But even with it I think it seems pretty possible to still have to kill thousands of monsters for a dragon drop
Shadow93
i've gottan a left half from a dustdevil and discovered they drop gems more frequently than any other monster, so try them :)
frankfrank18
i have herd that the dragon left half is the rarest drop in the game because i killed 29k dusties and didnt get one. the thing is i didnt even get a dragon chain from them! poeple say that its a 1:10000 drop for the chain and a 1:1000000 for the left half but i dont belive anything anymore i think its just all about your luck. lunareklipse
i read on the runescape forums about how jagex explained the ring of wealth. look at it like 2 roulette wheels. the first wheel would have your normal stuff like coins and air runes and there is one rare spot. if the wheel lands on the rare spot, it will spin the second "rare" wheel and this is where the ring is supposed to help. :shrugs: i dunno i wear it around anyways, even if it is false hope :D and i must have been down looking for obby stuff one night for 4 hours, and i got about 1500 tokul, lol but my friend walked outta there with a cape and a shield within about 2 hours, and i stayed longer upset at how crappy my luck is, to eventually leave defeated. im gonna go give it another go in a bit here i think RS name- Lunar3klipse, banned 3-16-06: found out theres a new appeal system, I get an extra appeal, fingers crossed. BTW: Ill give someone a serious dollar, if I can use more than 30kb for a sig size :/ its my hosting for crying out-loud.
