My first animated sig

Good start, what program did you use?

First things:

It needs to stop when your name appears.

Maybe make it pulse? So it goes out aswell as in. It looks quite... "sharp" if it goes from one end of the scale to the next.

I used photoshop 8 (or imageready cs its name :?)

Must try ur tips :D

Bah, I was going to copy it and change it so you can see what it looks like but it won't let me copy it as an animated picture mush1h.gif.

Nevermind, ill whip up a quick one.

Here:

achromicmagesigglow4tp.gif

Now, ive done my example as a glow.

All you need to do is;

1. Duplicate your text/image/whatever you want to glow.

2. Double click the layer of which you want to glow (the duplicated layer)

3. Click "Outer Glow" and put any settings you like.

4. Click OK.

5. Press the "Jump to Imageready" (Ctrl-Shift-M)

6. On the bar at the bottom, click the duplicate frame. And then select the second one which you just made.

7. Select the glowing layer and click the little eye next to it.

8. When you play it should now flash really quickly. To slow this down select the first frame and click the "Tween Animation Frames" button (Next to the duplicate frame button)

9. Set it to however many frames you want. (Keep in mind, More frames = bigger size)

10. Now when it plays it should glow but jump back to no glow at the end. To stop this, select the final frame and click the tween button and Tween it with the first frame. Put the same amount of frames to use as before.

11. Save it as Optimised.

I hope that made sense. And Im sure you know half of that but, meh. mush1h.gif

Oh waits, where's _k0m0d0_!?

I will follow his pro style of commenting, let's welcome the bad and good points system! :)

Bad points:

-Bad background

-Bad animation

-Bad font

Explaination:

-You could just download any brushes just by googling/search it and brush around, you will be surprised what you will get. (well, that's how I started off as a sig maker as well. :P) Instead of just filter or randomly do a background. It's really bad.

-The animation aint smooth at all. You could have do it better and in a easier way. Secondly, the animation is too fast even thou it's easy to catch what's the word is. For what I mean in "smooth animation" is something like this.

animation4rw.gif

-The font is decent, but it doesn't fit the sig at all. DaFont will helps alot in font's matter. You might wanna download some fonts to use it.

-

Good points:

-Good try, at least there's efforts.

-At least you knew you need more practise and good rating for yourself.

-Not bad for a first animation!

Did you include a border for the sig anyway? O_o"

Oh btw, cadburys_egg, what character is that in your sig? Maplesea? :?

Thanks Metroid for the siggy and dark_shadow for avvy! \:D/

Nah, MapleGlobal. I don't wanna be stuck with all those AznKid024442.

And yes, if animation needs to be one thing, that thing is smoothness. Otherwise it won't be very appealling to the eye.

I don't play Maple at all, but I just recently just got hooked by the latest game they had (I believe it's still beta) name "PangYa" I think.

And yep, animation is important since this thread is meant to be "My first animation".

I'm here Jitouz! :D :P

I cant belive the way I use to C/C is being used, I never tought It would be usefull for something...

Your way is way sofisticated, you have the:

-Bad Points

--Explanation

-Good points

Your good points are awsome! :D

Next time I post something Jitouz I want you to make C/C for me ^.^

It will be a long post, hope you read it...

Its better! I'll adopt Jitouz style and add on something else ^.^

You want a good work, so you need good C/C, hard ones like Jitouz and maybe mine... :)

So I'll give out my C/C:

>Bad Points:

-Poor Background

-No border

-Bad Animation

-Font doesnt goes

-Not saved as PNG to keep quality

-No text work

-Bad font

>Explanation:

-It just look like you cropped the BG from somewere else (I know you made it..), it needs more, use some more brushes and, and duplicate layers, use soft light, hard light, darken, lighter, change opacity... Its really really bad!!!

-Downloads more fonts (as Jitouz said :P ), it can be at DaFont or at 1001freefonts or at free-fonts, the best is DaFont...

-Download brushes, grunge one are great, but there a whole lot of good brushes at DevianArt all you need to do is search. You gotta improve your BG, Im sorry to say but its horrible...

-Get some tutorials at Good-Tutorials for text and animation, so you will have a good and smooth animation and a good text. Doind like Text tool>Write>First red is not that good... think again, do the text maybe blue to go with the sig... red and blue are two diferent colors...

-Open a 300x150 either in PS or Pain and stroke it, so you will ahve a simple balck border (hard to you?), put it on the top layer and TA-DA! a simple 1px balck border!!! OMG!

-Save it as PNG format, it keeps quality and its light. I used to save as GIF but I saw my mistake :P

-Work on your text, as simple as Drop Shadow, stroke, just blend it a bit!!

you will see some good things to do at the tutorials... The actual text if freaking bad, it just dont goes with the whole sig

-Animation: Jitouz sig is the best explanation, it has to be smooth, not that laggy bad red thing in your sig.

>Good points (Evil Jitouz :) )

-Its a try

-Its your first

-I like that blue you used as BG color...

>Rating:

It would be kind of negative... because the bad points are more than the good ones, so no numbers... i'll just wait for a UPDATE! is you want to read the C/Cs and make it, otherwise just keep that... that... err... :?

>Conclusion:

Work more, spend more time with your sig, and FOLLOW:

-My C/C

-Jitouz C/C

-cadburys_egg C/C

and all other good C/C that might come...

Whoa! See, I knew k0m0d0 will step in.

But indeed, having C/C and learning from it doesn't harm anyone. :P

cadburys_egg: PangYa is a nice game. lol.

Um, Komodo... You can't save animated signatures as .PNGs. Although it would look superb, it can only be saved as a .GIF. Which is like a lower quality .PNG.

Besides, .PNG takes alot of room.

Example:

caqtuar1bz.png

That image takes up 26.1 KB.

Thats alot considering what is on it.

For some peple C/C can harm, but all the coments in a C/C for me are harmless, I take all them as an add-on to my work.

Never played PangYa :(

I used to save my works in GIF, but they lose quality, so I save in png, and it doenst take that much room for the wuality, I think its worth.

And the PNG saving was a idea for saving his background, untill he makes nice animations. But I know that animations cant be saved as PGN ^.^

The size of the file as PNG or GIF really depends on how big is your work..

But I would say PNG ftw, and GIF ftw too :)
