MyPurpleCrayon
Ah well... I went out today and spent 53 USD on this game to come home and have it not working properly. My computer is good enough to run Guild Wars and Counterstrike Source perfectly, so I assume it can run this fine. It installed and I was about to play... When I clicked 'play' a black pop-up box comes up that says "Oblivion" at the top, but it doesn't load entirely. After that I get an "Error Report". Did this happen to anyone else, and is there any way I can fix it? I really hope I don't have to send this game back. :? Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.

Bmms
you best bet to look at what the error says and then head over to ElderScrolls.com, they will be able to help you more then here can, so im recommend going there and looking in tech support im sure you can fix your problem if you go there ~Bmms Aefx(started 11/1/2002) Cb: 200 TS: 1900+Bmms--Jr(Started on 1/24/06)(Banned 11/13/09 ) Cb: 119(pre-eoc) TS: 1700+Bmms(Started 8/?/2001)(Banned 1/24/06 ) Cb: 101(pre-eoc) TS: 1350+
MyPurpleCrayon
Thanks much... I'll still post what the error says here. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
indy500fan
do you use objectdock, windowblinds, or any other sort of skinning utility? for some games i have problems if those are on, oblivion is fine with object dock though. and even if your computer isnt going to run it very well i dont think you would get that error, everything might move kind of slow but it would work. the official forums definently would probably be a help. MyPurpleCrayon
Hahaha I'm not sure what those are... Ahh this is killing me I totally want to play this game. And the offical forums are useless. No one has helped me yet and I have posted so much information. The most I got was "Update your ram". Everyone and their moth tells you to update my ram. No! indy500fan
im pretty positive it has nothing to do with your computer being slow. it would still work anyways. my computer was a 2.8ghz 512 ram, and it installed fine. once you get in the game though... lets just say the graphics kind of reminded me about the last time i palyed Dark Forces, about 7 years ago. definently you will be on 640x480, with no options and a small view distance. it will also still only run around 10 fps. but it should work, and you might be able to play some of the parts of the game (probably not going to be able to fight outside, you will have to click the mouse about 15 times to get it to register once). so let me give you the advice you dont want to here. you will not only need to upgrade your ram, you might have to get a new computer, and definently going to have to get a video card, to be able to play at decent graphics. :(

Nadril
What exactly is your video card? btw, even with an amd athalon 64 3400+ and a 6600GT and 1gb of ram, I still can just run oblivion at about 25-30fps outdoors, and 40-45 indoors at mostly high stuff / bloom effect. That's no where near the 100+ fps I get in counter strike, or god knows what I used to get in guild wars. It's realy a leauge of it's own.
weezcake
128mb video card was minimum. 256 was recommended, I believe.. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
