Strength for other purposes give your thoughts

Featured Replies

If you get a high enough strength level you can carry a 2h weapon in one hand and have a shield. Like if you have a rune 2h which you need 40 attack to weild then you can use it one handed at lvl 80 strength. For an an addy 2h lvl 65 strength. Mith 2h lvl 60 strength. I think if you put dragon 2h on one hand it would make it too powerful.

Another use: Strength could be used to BREAK shields and armour. Obviously this would be unfair so again it can only break armours upto Rune. Break Iron armours at lvl 80 strength. Break Steel at 85. Break Black at 90. Break Mith and Addy at 95. Break Rune at 99.

Another use: When you get lvl 70 strength you should be able to use special attacks while fist fighting. Kind of quicker or more powerful punches with your fists and feet. Kicks can be more elegant and swifter and use 10% of the special attack bar. Punches will be slower but 2x more powerful than normal punch uses 30% of special attack bar.

Another use: They should incorporate a skill called wrestling in runescape where you can pin down men and other creatures as you grow levels. Strength could contribute to wrestling and when you pin someone down it could complement your thieving as you can freely pickpocket them.

Another use: Well its not exactly a use but it could make u look more muscular in game (obviously only if you choose to look more muscular)

world2isntthathardby4.pngI think merchanting is extinct....

lordofthehauntedminestextcb6.png Completed haunted mine at level 75.

Barrows Drops: Dh platelegs, Guth helm, Karils cb, Torags legs

Uhm.. No to pretty much all of them. Your requirement increments have no correlation with one another, so I dont like those. A wrestling skill where you pin men and monsters? Sounds very.. useless. I pay a good amount of money for my armour. I dont want it broken, nor does 95% of runescape. Why would I want to pk broken armor? We already have special attacks for fighting, even without 70 strength, so no there.

And having a one-handed two-hander makes absolutely no sense.

Nope it wasnt, some good ones in there.

I especially like the idea of swifter punching mate, thats a good one :P

i like the idea but not the one for destroying armor that would be unfair.. and what if the person wanted to pk that person just for there armor?

also maybe people could use it to move boulders or pick up heavy items...

It's a game!!!

I think I read a post here about givin an extra percent of bonus in woodcutting if u have more strenght. For example:

40 str: 5%

50 str: 10%

60 str: 15%

70 str: 20%

80 str: 25%

90 str: 30%

99 str: 35%

It would also help to fight lvl 3 autoers.

thats actually a pretty cool idea

I'd be willing to listen to suggestions of strength helping some non-combat skills, but to improve combat (such as 2H in one hand suggestion) would upset the balance completely.

I agree, that would be pretty cool.

And maybe having more strength could translate into more Energy? Actually, maybe it already does. In fact, as I'm typing this I'm becoming mroe and more paranoid that I'm just being a noob. Can't say my strength is high enough to make an impact yet, so yea, I'm probably just being noobish. I'll go crawl back into my RSC hole...

And if it doesn't, it should. : P

strength cant give more energy..that would mess up the point of agility which actually dosent give u more energy but heals your energy up faster...

Whoa... It is?

If you are carrying out a skill that involves the strength bonus would you get XP in strength?

I see this as a logical progression but can anticipate objections from the combat only and skill pure brigade since it would rob each of them of an advatange. The Combat only brigade would not have such a big strength advantage and the skill pure would be forced to gain combat levels. This is one of the reasons i think that this wouldn't be including in this generation of runescape.

That being said I am infavor of the skill related parts of this idea.

Speeding up punches I don't think since speed and strength don't automatically connect and the increase in attack fromt he strength is already there.

wrestling also not a great idea could possibly be used in a mini game but not without a lot of work around the edges.

Breaking stuff, maybe a above a certain hit, say you hit somebody in a particular type of armour for a high enough hit, then that gives a very small chance of damaging the armour. Damaged armour would have to be easily fixed and only a minor handycap

I've thought of the str helping things myself...My idea is that the higher yoru str is, the faster you can att with a 2h...I mean it makes sense, plus it'll still require 2h, so you can't carry a shield...so it'd still be mostly balanced. I mean no one really uses the 2h's for much anymore. I think how slow they attack is ridiculous because you are already sacrificing using a shield...Why penalize you doubly? But yeah, some of your ideas are pretty good, i don't like the breaking idea though.
