Great article, in my opinion. Runescape is something to do when you have free time, not something to devote your life to. It's something to be enjoyed too, not just slaved away at for that next skill level. :wink:

I'd do the same, probably.

Favourites: Washington, Lincoln, Kennedy. They were all great uniters of their time, and all faced some of the most difficult challenges our country has ever faced with wisdom and eloquence. Least favourites: George W. Bush (junior) and John Adams. I'm guessing most people know why Bush is in there. :wink: Adams passed the infamous Alien and Sedition acts, essentially curtailing the civil liberties of free speech. Not a good way to score points in a democracy.

Heh... I remember the classes. I chose "adventurer"... What can I say? I was only 9 at the time and I thought it sounded cool. :P I still remember the bronze axe that I got, which I recall using as my weapon of choice for far, far too long.

Of course they should be banned. No one is above the rules - if anything, high level players should be banned even faster than lower level players. It'll sting a lot more to lose a 126 than a 50.

No, I don't regret playing it. As far as life priorities go, this is probably close to dead last on the list. I have been playing it for 6 years... but clearly I've been playing less intensely than most of the other people on this thread. :? If anything I'm very happy I played Runescape. I've met a lot of people through 6+ years and I would never want to undo the experiences. Moderation ftw.

A little over six years now ( six years and four months), but not all on this character. I've only played about a year on Kewl Sabre now.

Hey, a Runescape newspaper. Someone else made a thread about this a while ago, but it must have died. I'm glad someone else decided to take up the challenge. :) Good luck with the paper. I suppose doing both, doing it biweekly or getting some guest articles are out of the question... :? If it did go monthly, something to read would be great. I wouldn't mind reading letters to the editor, as long as they were intelligent enough and long enough to differentiate themselves from regular forum posts (as we do already have a "Debate" forum).

I'd say the old version is much better, and I'd definitely hope that it stays around in some way. Both would be fine by me. Quite frankly, if Tip.it sticks with the new on I'll be using a different help site for my quests.

It's idiotic. It's not overly difficult to jump, but it's another inconvenience to get into the wilderness. I remember when you could PK anywhere... goes to show you just how much Jagex has catered to the noobs.

Well, if this particular planet is only (used lightly) 120 trillion miles away it's not quite as far into the past. We're probably looking at, on a cosmic scale, recent events. But yea, things that are 10 million light years away we're looking at 10 million years ago. Anyway... while the discovery is intriguing, the chances of us being able to settle down there are extremely slim. It's a long, long ways away and we still know next to nothing about it. I think that our best bet is still Mars and terraforming. And at the rate Earth is going, we'd best get started on Mars pretty soon.

I'm agnostic, so I really don't believe in a heaven or hell. What happens when we die? I don't know. The greatest mystery of life is death (women a close second), and I'm at peace with that.

^Couldn't have put it better myself. :) Yea, Runescape is just a game. But we still have forums, a newspaper and endless fansites. People like to discuss their hobbies and what they do, even if it is just a game. And it's a pretty complex game at that.

I'd guess that several thousand people are probably "active" members of these forums. I'm not sure if 1 post a day should be the requirement for that, but we've got a lot of active members. I go in and out of posting often... it follows my Runescape playing patterns. :oops: But I still have 1.11 posts per a day, which surprises me. I thought it would be less. : p

That's exactly what I do. Every few weeks (usually before the next PK trip : p) I go down to the guild and get myself a few hundred lobs and cook them. It's only if I realize I'm out and have to go pking in 5 minutes that I ever buy food.

If we're going by rare RS names, I'm pretty proud of my character "Kop". Not really that special, but considering how hard it is to get a 3-letter name these days, I feel special. : p
