Guest XplsvBam
I personally have an affliction to apprehend the knowledge which thou entertain. Sorry just finished watching Jack Sparrow on the tele. Anyways. I'm sure there will be at least one maestroa that will inform us there is no heaven or hell, but we need to wait around for him to tell us. We are to naive to know the truth for ourselves. amirite? So are you going to heaven or hell?
ktmcf121
i don't live my life based on fearing hell, or desiring heaven. i'm not even completely sure i believe either exist. however, i believe that common courtesy and genuinely being a good person benefits everyone, and i'd like to believe that most other people are too, but unfortunately, that's rarely the case. Viktorkrum77
The Bible says, accept Jesus as your savior and you will enter heaven. I don't believe anyone is qualified to make this decision, it is one made upon judgment day by God. Me doing staff.
warri0r45
Lets get this clear. Hell isn't the mythical demon land with lakes of fire and eternal torture. I'd bet god almighty isn't a sadist, people. On the other hand, hell being merely 'without god' makes more sense. If I'm an atheist, I suppose I am going to be without god. It kind of makes me wonder why seing as I'm not going to deny him, it's just that I won't flat out accept something which is so manipulated twisted and perceptive. If I were to believe in god, he'd be the kind of god I like and I'd get to go to heaven :P . In conclusion, according to Christianity, I'm going to hell, but it's not up to me to judge. All up to the big dude. Kind of makes me think. Do you rekon he shows discression and/or compassion? Or is it just follow the law, no grey area? vilageidiotx
Hell isnt christian. It was created by the catholics to scare people into conversion in the medieval ages. The bible says you live with god or away from god. There is no little horned men with pitch forks boiling you alive and deep frying your eyes, or at least not if christianity is right. If you are of faith, dont base it off of heaven or hell. Religion isnt supposed to be a ticket to heaven. Do good and the rest will follow. Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I personally see them merely as handicaps [created by ingenious religious founders] for the people who don't have the guts to actually be a good person every once in a while on their own :| . A lot of religion is just getting people to be good people on earth by utilizing supernatural ideas, thus making it impossible for people to prove them wrong. Well, it's general manipulation, anyways, for good or ill. I believe in a god though; I'm not an atheist :P (I think, my view of it is just the unthinking/thinking-in-a-different-way energy of the universe :-k ). No where in the Bible does it say you do not choose your path and God does it for you. Heck, if it was like that, we would all be pre-destinied for heaven or hell. But the Bible writes that God wishs that non would perish and have everlasting life. Heaven is free. Heaven is a choice. Its simpley just accepting that sins from Adam were wiped away through Jesus Christs blood. If you don't let Jesus blood wipe out your sins, then you will have to pay for your sins to God. Which in that case is basically hell. If Jesus never went to hell, then we have to go. Thankfully, he chose to go for us and in our place.. and now we don't have to go! Its that simple.. you don't buy heaven with works and morals, and why would you want to anyway? That would be a LOT of hard work!!! Jesus paid for all our sins. The ones who are not going to heaven are the ones who take their sins apon themself to pay the price which cannot be paid by their own blood. Walking the word of God and in love is loving God. People think that if you don't walk in the word after being a christian makes you a old sinner and a hell bound boy. Nothing could be further than the truth. God handled all sin in the world with Jesus blood. In Gods eyes, every one on the earth is free from sin. The only ones not going to heaven are the ones who won't accept that Jesus paid the price for it. You recieve Salvation through faith in believeing Jesus paid the price for your own sin. It doesn't get any more simpler than that. Do you believe in gravity? Yes. Do you believe in water? Yes. Do you believe in Jesus? whoa wait a second now.. Its a simple "Yes, I believe he died for me.. and rose again", and ta-da, your saved. God did ALLLLL the hardwork that needed to be done. Now since he can't impose on our will, all he is saying, "Just believe" (or recieve), and you got it.. your saved.. its done. Welcome to the kingdom. Welcome to heaven. Its not difficult at all! Christians make it sound like you gotta straightin up your act afterwards too or you will be hell bound. Not true. Now you shouldn't live a life of sin, but God loves you so much, your mind cannot understand his mercies and graces. Its shocking and marvelous to men. ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me

As for the bold, accepting water and gravity aren't beliefs (sorry to nitpick, the misuse of the word is a pet hate of mine) yet accepting Jesus as my lord and saviour is. I can see water and the affects of gravity. I can't see that Jesus was divine. As for the simplicity of the choice, I can see that. But you could probably also see the little dilemma of mine where I believe there is truth in what we can know and uncertainty in what we don't. It's not like I could say 'ok, I think I'll accept Jesus now.' I'll always value whatever I can know more than what I need faith for. Just the way god made me. :P
Rebdragon
Defender, nowadays I can't tell if you're joking to start some random debate or flame-war, of if you're serious about what you're saying  . I mean, it's what a lot of Christians believe (okay, basically all of the true Christians), but it just sounds so weird if you take it extremely literally  . That is me talking to you about it in a literal way. Its as easy as that. People display Jesus like commerical ad products. Yes! You got Jesus man, your saved! well wait.. inless... first.. you gotta do this over here.. then skrew that right there.. and tada! A bed! Wait.. wasn't we talking about Jesus or something? xvillexvalox
The Bible says love thy neighbor and respect your parents. Then the Bible says, hate everyone except Jesus, because for everyone you love, you love Jesus less. Obviously, everyone's going to hell. Except the mormons, as Nadril stated. EDIT: Heck, if it was like that, we would all be pre-destinied for heaven or hell. Ahem. Predestination -> Calvinism and Presbyterianism.
