Hehe, I opened this thread wondering if you were a history buff writing something about the Crusades. :P
  2. Yeah it's sounding like there are a lot of differences between scout troops. My troop was led by an ex Special Forces Vietnam Vet that was very much by the book in terms of following the Scouting rules and being properly led and organized. To balance that out we got to do a lot of dangerous and fun stuff. He expected a lot from us but as long as we showed we were worthy of the responsibility he would give us some awesome opportunities.
  3. I guess anyone that thought a big controlling central government was the key to unlocking and freeing a country would agree with that comment. I personally believe and I am making the assumption that Duke Freedom believes that a huge all powerful central government actually limits a country in the long run due to poor efficient use of money. Money is going to be spent either way. If the government takes more of it in taxes to help with economic growth and the greater good vs people getting to keep it and spending it for their own economic growth and greater good which way do you think it will be used more efficiently? So I guess my point is if you mean by it limits America in terms of how big the government can get I agree but if you say it limits America by limiting it's individual citizens then I would have to disagree.
  4. Have you been exercising lately? I notice that when I don't work out on a regular basis I start feeling really blah for no reason.
  5. What is the link to this article?
  6. lol as to the broken wrist http://www.webmd.com Awesome sight whenever you have medical questions.
  7. Or the third option which they are doing which is to print off money creating it out of thin air thus inflating everyone else's money so we all have less. It's like a ninja stealth tax that most people don't pick up on.
  8. I have gotten my days messed up many times. The best way for me to fix it is just to pick one day that is gonna hurt and wake up at a normal time even if you only got 2-4 hours sleep. Then make sure you stay up until at least 9 pm with no naps. It's not fun but you will go to sleep for sure. Another big thing that helps is to make sure you are getting regular exercise.
  9. So Reb and Nadril did my last post clear up my position for you better? The argument you made was: If God didn't want us to do things Then he would make them impossible for us to do. You know that isn't true. So I guess the Egyptians discovery of Pi or geometry or the Greeks discovering trigonometry is outdated since they are 2000 years old? I mean times are changing man... Black and white rules don't change. People change. Does that mean the people are always right in the way that they change? No.
  10. Yep... You cannot scientifically directly prove or disprove anything because none of it can reproduced right now. All you can do is look at indirect things and use them to try to see the bigger picture. Like Rebdragon said, basically it all comes down to which position you place your faith in.
  11. hehe, I'm not Catholic. This is just my own opinion. I'm not taking anyone's official position. According to that I guess murdering someone is ok since it is possible for someone to commit that act. That is a weak argument.
  12. For people that don't believe in such things as sin and stuff just skip this. I'm not trying to dictate to anyone, just expressing my perspective from my belief system. Hmm... I wonder if we really do disagree or whether you think I'm trying to say something I'm not and it's just a misunderstanding. It seems like there is this idea out there that if someone feels they are gay then for some reason they feel like they are obligated to act on it. Like there is this attitude of like "Oh, I can't help it, I'm gay." Is my view wrong on that? I'm not saying I'm right on that, I'm just saying it's my perception at the moment so feel free to enlighten me if I'm wrong. Bottom line is sexual acts and lusting outside of marriage for anyone regardless of orientation is sinning according to the Bible. How is that a double standard? I'm saying your hormones don't rule your actions. The only way they can rule you is if you let them. I don't think there is a gay gene but I do think each person out there has their own sins they are more inclined to struggle with. It could be lying, anger, homosexuality, looking at naked women , whatever...
  13. I believe people can be more inclined to be gay but that doesn't make it ok to act on it from a Christian perspective. It is still a sin. The logic of saying "Oh I'm gay" as an excuse to go out and have sex with people doesn't work. If it was some blanket excuse for doing what you wanted then "Oh I'm straight, I can't control going out and having sex with girls before marriage" would be legitimate as well. I'm straight and my natural desires are to have sex with lots of hot girls. That doesn't mean I have the right to act on it from a moral viewpoint. A gay person's struggles with sin are the same as my own. I struggle with lust, they struggle with lust. I want to get a piece of someone I find attractive, they want a piece of someone they find attractive. No one is perfect and everyone slips up at times but that doesn't make it ok. Our hormones don't rule our bodies.
