Hi. If i was using the best defence boost prayer (the one that boosts 15%), and only that prayer, if my prayer bonus was 0, how long would 28 prayer points last before id need to drink a prayer potion? What is the rate of prayer drainage?

Prayer drains quite quickly if your Prayer Stat is low to begin with. The higher your prayer obviously the longer it will last.

 

 

 

You can also wear items that enhance Prayer. Things like an holy or unholy Symbol plus Initiate Armour also slows the rate prayer drains.

I've always wanted to be some badass warrior monk, but the prayer bonii don't usually work out with armour and whatnot.

initate armour provides the best armour prayer bonus, the same bonus as monk - but theres a helm too, to make it better

 

the best prayer bonus is full initiate, dragon mace, god book, fire cape and (un)holy amulet

It offers teh best prayer bonusses ingame I think (don't know about Verak's though...).

White boots and gloves give u a prayer bonus' too. And if u replace the dragon mace and full initiate for full veracs u have a better bonus, better defence stats if u run out of prayer and special/effect

Well here is what my plan was. My account currently has:

 

 

 

96 magic

 

84 range

 

83 defence

 

11 prayer (desert treasure)

 

 

 

89 combat

 

 

 

It was originally made for pure melee armour staking, hence the low prayer. But now its a mage/ranger. What i was gonna do was get 28 prayer for the defence prayer, and start pking with it. But if 28 prayer is too low to pk with (i will have prayer pots btw), id either get higher prayer, or not get it at all.

 

 

 

As for the prayer bonus. Id be wearing full ahrims, glory ammy and mage short, so the prayer bonus isnt gonna be too high.

flail gives better bonus than d mace, but it is 2h, so d mace plus god book is better than just flail

The only prayer formula that I have seen is something like

 

Time = 180/Rate

Ever the champion of a pointless exercise, I've timed my prayer drain with Steel Skin and come up with this:

 

 

 

without bonuses: 28 prayer - 85 sec

 

56 prayer - 170 sec

 

 

 

56 prayer with bonuses: +5 - 198 sec

 

+10 - 228 sec

 

+20 - 283 sec

 

 

 

Which works out APPROX

 

 

 

3 seconds per basic prayer point, plus 6 seconds for every bonus point

There are white knights gloves and I think they give +1 prayer bonus, like all white knights items (except mace :? )

 

EDIT: I found a pair of these gloves in my bank and they do give a +1 prayer bonus.

When I was getting tickets in the agility arena with +30 prayer bonus 63 prayer points last me about an hour while praying rapid heal. If you really want maximum healing power out of your prayer points and like to live a little dangerously, save your last prayer point and use the instant healing prayer (lvl 49- Redemption) when you're under 10% hp. Since your prayer point lasts you for about a minute you have plenty of time to fail an obstacle and get 1/3rd of your base prayer lvl added as hitpoints :D

If you don't mind, could you also provide some timing data for prayer with other drain rates?

 

 

 

A complete formula would need to be based upon Prayer level, Bonus, and Drain rate.
