I have found that the South East portal (the yellow one) is by far the easiest to kill while using Melee. Most of the time i can easily solo it before the other members of the team arrive to help, so i think that perhaps the portals are weak to different types of combat.

 

 

 

So i just wanted to know if anyone else who kills the portals rather than defending the knight noticed that the south east portal is much weaker, or perhaps its all a massive fluke?

ive meleed it alone a few times, and sometimes with only 1 other guy there. weve managed to destroy the gate before anybody even turns up to help.

It's highly possible. I have noticed the same. I think it's a possibility that each portal is weak against one melee attack type: slash, crush, stab, ?

I noticed that all the portals have high armor defense and are easier to kill with Veracs and mage than they are with range and other forms of melee.

I heard that they are weak to crush attack, so veracs and maces do alot to them...

I've had no problem soloing the se portal with melee but if anything it is weak to slash/stab not crush. I unload full dds specs every other round and sometimes wipe out 3/4 of it's hp. Whip hits about 75% of the time and pretty high as well. I was using full veracs there before and wasn't doing NEARLY as well. I can't say for sure that you are right but IF any of them are weaker to melee than the rest it is DEFINATELY the se.

Ok, i spent around three hours here today (need 1k more exp to 98 attack :P ) In that time i tried killing each different portal a considerable amount of times, and im 100% certain that there must be some sort of pattern here because the South - East portal is by far the easiest one to kill for me (using a whip).

 

 

 

Perhaps the colours of the portals means something?

 

 

 

If i have time tommorow, or could be wednesday, i have a lot of work. I could try and use a dragon sword with different attack styles, to see if it increases the hit frequency on different portals, and then il try mage and range to see if that makes a noticable difference.

i usually attack the west portal first and it dosen't seem any harder than the east one...

The blue one is the hardest in my experience

i have found that god spells work really well against all the portals, so if you really want to get through the rounds quick get your best mage gear on, a few bloods and stuff and go mage the portals, having 2 or more god mages realy speeds up the time needed for people to kill the portals

I think maybe there's not any particular attack for each portal...

 

 

 

i'm only combat 92 and yesterday me and another guy of cmb 93 (both with whips) got west portal to about 10% health before others came...
