Welcome to the second RuneScape newsletter. Lots has happened since the last newsletter, and we've had a lot of good suggestions for the future. Read on to find out what's planned

 

 

 

 

 

What's new in Runescape

 

-----------------------

 

 

 

Most of you are probably aware that the player killing in RuneScape has been changed to make the game fairer. Now when you die, if you haven't attacked any other players within the last 20 minutes, then you get to keep your best 3 items.

 

 

 

The bank we promised in the last newsletter has been added to the city, and is a safe place to store your money. Following a large amount of attacks just outside the bank, the city has paid to put multiple armed guards around the bank area to protect people who have just withdrawn money. The number of guards was further increased last Monday.

 

 

 

The magic system has also been modified, such that the magic spells no longer depend on your ranged combat skill. So you no longer need to be a high level ranger to use them effectively. The spells were made stronger, but they were still too weak, so they were made TWICE as effective against monsters last Monday!

 

 

 

New Quest: Vampire Slayer - The vampire sleeping in the coffin under Draynor Manor has been terrorising the inhabitants of the small village to the south and must be stopped! If you think you are up to the task of slaying a vampire, go and talk to the people in the village to find out how you can destroy this evil monster!

 

 

 

The most recent addition is a new area in the sewer. This contains 2 new monster types, deadly-red-spiders, and the exceedingly strong 'moss-giant'. If you can survive then the red spider eggs can be used to make a 4-dose strength potion!

 

 

 

What's planned

 

--------------

 

We've received a lot of good suggestions, a lot of which we are planning to add to the game. In particular the following changes are planned next:

 

 

 

-Modify the trade window to display the names of items to prevent unfair trading.

 

-A lot more spells are still due to be added to the magic system.

 

-Proper support for clans, with a full system to allow people to join and create clans.

 

-A 'duel' feature. Challenge your rivals to a duel, with the risks and rewards set as you like.

 

-More skills such as fishing, and fletching.

 

-A friends list to indicate which of your friends are online, and allow easy communication.

 

-And of course more quests, more monsters, and more areas of map.

Some interesting info there, but still...

Give zezima some slack ppl. Even though he doesnt raise all his skills to be number one like another person two lvls away from all 99s :wink: and even though he wasnt the first to get lvl 99 in a certain skill, he still was the FIRST to get all 99s. Thats impressive anyway you look at it even if it did take him a while. Also, perhaps he never wanted all the fame he has. He can't help it. Everyone just looks at the highscores, sees him at number 1 and idolizes him. Maybe he just wanted to "beat" the game and all this fame just happened to come with it.

okey back to another zezima subject he just wants to play the game because he likes it... and well i think he likes to have fame but many peoples says hes an [wagon] no wonder if everyday you play 100s of peoples are asking for free stuff :S i will get irritate of that alot

I miss RSC so much...its not even fun to play the RSC that still exists though. I was trying to collect herbs in the Edge dungeon and some level 87 managed to 3 hit me. (one of the hits was a 31 :roll: )

 

 

 

I was in full rune, he only had a d battle.

...not 87. either 77 or 78. you're only lvl 77 in RSC.

So how long has Zezima held the #1 spot. I didn't start playing till september 05 so i'm just wondering.

I been playing since April 2001,

 

 

 

TKS - Was a girl YES, and she was a really nice person

 

 

 

Bluerose13x - Me and my friend Tameelf (still plays) used to help her smith when she was tryin for 99 smithing. Hed smelt rune ores for people and id collect nature runes for her. She came into Rs2 and played for a while, but as many old runescape players know, the real game died when rs2 came out. Last time i talked to her was 2 years ago and she hasnt been on since.

 

 

 

Mctavish - richest person in rs back in 2002 <-- sold bluerose's Rune for her and got alot of the first rune items ever made

she clearly doesnt play much cause none of her stats have changed and she probably hasn't played since farming came out as she isnt scored for it :D

No offence to Zezima but I thik Nova is nicer. Met Zezima not Nova though but I hear Nova talks, answers a few quests and basically chats. When I met Zezima he just wanted to train, no talking. Fair play to him, he probably gets faster exp. I don't really see why everyone is like 'pmgage i mÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâãt zezema jste knows!' he's just a player...

Zezima i really just don't care about.... boring...

 

 

 

But N0valyfe is a pretty nice person, met him world 48 burthope while he was cooking, likes to chat, answers almost all the questions I've seen asked to him, he even sold and bought a few kinds of food for his training. :wink:

I`ve heard rumours she left permenantly. But then again, they are rumours.

 

 

 

I have to input my 10 cents here: Zezima doesnt deserve any fame. Bluerose13x does.

 

 

 

I remember the days when she free-smithed at varrock anvils. People would get in huge line-ups and if somebody tried to cut in line everybody would totally freak out lol.

Bluey bluey kabluey, people are forgetting another legendary smith: Musashi22, who held the title as the best smith in Runescape for a longer time Zezima has been first in the overall scores. I also wouldn't forget getting my first rune weapons from him personally (back when rune 2handers were very scarce and costed a million-ish each). He also proved the claim of owning enough bars to get his smithing level up all over again, twice. :P

when did rs stop being a society?

Off topic: Happy 16th birthday to me...

The amazing thing about bluerose is that when she played it was way harder to do anything. When I started playing they did not have banks so you would have to mine, walk to smelt the ores, and then go smith them all in one trip which made it very slow to gain xp. Even to mine you had to go into your inventory, right click on the pick choose mine and hit the rock. Also, even when banks came out people were a lot poorer back then becasue there was not much wealth in the game. A lot of people could not save things up in bulk and sell them. So the fact that she could get 99 in smithing which is still a hard skill to get 99 is amazing. Anyway I could get off on a tangent and just wanted to put my two cents in it.
