The Usefulness of A Bank PIN

Featured Replies

I myself have a bank PIN and i was wondering whether or not it is actually that useful.

I mean, cant hackers just try every single number from 0000 to 9999? or is there a restriction to the number of times you can guess the number?

thanks in advance

well, with 10,000 possibilities, when hackers see a bank pin, they tend to just forget about trying the bank account. and there is no reason to not have a bank pin, as, even though a hacker could guess ur pin, its better to have a little more protection than just leaving your bank account wide open

Back by popular demand!

And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.

That would be

10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 10000

Combinations

Takes long to try that out

BTW: sorry i didnt saw ur post

yes i forgot my bank pin so i tried the poissible numbers it could be after about the 6th one im pretty sure i got it. But no it says please try again, then wait 1 minute, then wait 5 min then wait like 10 or an hour i forget.

Its not very useful, trust me. I just got hacked, today, and the hacker got passed my bank pin. The must have some sort of program or something.

If you use mIRC...

thtas odd. jagex made the numbers purposefully change so that macorers would have a harder time getting past. unless jagex actually does a "randomized" pattern, that program must be really good or the hacker must been having a good day.

They can have like - clickhere then randomize clickthere or something

so its like they click each of the number points randomly. After all, their is a pattern to everything..

It's to keep hackers out of your bank.

yeah a hacker could guess it, but think about it, its 10000 combinations, who is gonna try all of em?

pretty much, you could make 100 times the money in that time.

on your 3rd go you must wait about 5 seconds i think.

every combination would take about another 5 seconds I'm guessing if the keylogger has a fast internet connection.

so that's 50000 seconds, just as a guess. Now we add another 5 seconds in between those and we get 250k seconds and a LOT of patience.

250k seconds = 4116 minutes = 68.6 hours straight.

If you have enough patience to do that, then I'm amazed (imagine nearly 3 days and 3 nights of clicking passwords without even a break to eat or go to the toilet...).
