Ok, so I was watching this Video http://www.dark2k1.com/702-dead/~~(THANKS [DI]Ekaggen)~~ trying to learn better how to kill the boss Jad, since last time I tried the caves, the prayer switching just totally owned on me. Well, I think I figured out a better way to tell which attack he is about to use...watch his back feet. His rear left foot (our right) lifts up slightly before a range attack, whereas both rear feet remain firmly on the ground during a mage attack. When I get home, I'll be doing the caves again, and post my results. Hopefully, and with any luck, I'll be the proud owner of a Fire Cape by the end of the evening.

It would be cool if that were true. Does it happen before the normal animation cos if so that would be usefull but on the otherhand might be hard to spot. If it works looks like it could be usefull. Good find :)

you want to ditch the sharks, replace with 4 sara brews, and fill the other 6 spots with super restore. Also better for 2 Crystal bows instead of x bow and 1. trust me, i know what im doing. read my story for inspiration :wink:

When preparing to do the Fight Caves, I bought 27 sara brews to make 20 four dosers. However, I knew that it was going to be a fruitless effort the first time, so I didn't waste them on the first trip. However, I am much more confident this go around, so I believe I will replace 5 of the sharks with sara brews, that will give me 4 good runs. Here's to hoping that I won't need them all =D

ive watched a video on how to kill him, and the difference in attacks are obvious, the length of time between feet raise and drops back down is amazing

Hmm, a very slight change if you ask me. Personally, I think it'd be safest to keep mage prayer on all the time as soon as you get close, and switch to ranged as soon as you see him stomp, seeing as the stomp is hard to miss. Then again, I don't know if this'll work, seeing as I came up with this after getting the cape <_<

I also noticed he sometimes uses his one leg and scratches the other with it. I don't think it will act as a message on what his next attack will be though.

I haven't confirmed this yet, but I've been told their's different sound effect's for the two attacks.

good luck to you, patience and experience are the biggest factors, dont get discouraged. And don't worry too much about minor gear, I did it in addy boots lol
