ixfd64
I can confirm that there is indeed a large difference in memory usage. On my computer, I run a distributed computing client program in the background called Prime95, which is used to testing very large Mersenne numbers (2^p-1, where p is prime) for primality. (mersenne.org) Usually, whenever I am playing RS, the program slows down a lot, and when I try to bring up its window, it half-freezes. With this new update, the program no longer freezes! Yay! :) ARENAscape: Baratus [AS] max hit: 166 with Moon Battle Hammer ixfd64 [AS] max hit: 116 with (untitled spell #2)

ishepp
^^ doesn't know what a Mersenne number is. Can't be bothered to explain sorry, but its a maths thing. I would have that program but my laptop is too feeble to run 2 programs at once if its anything more complicated than Word or IE. Thats good news though, less memory use=less lag yay. Can't really tell yet, as the game always runs a bit slower immediately following updates. 89/99 farming
gonpost
Oh yes it's quite good... If I had the rs client open for a while, the memory usage would creep up until it was very high... Hopefully that'll be different now. Either way, I'm thankful for this update. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.
weezcake
My RS used to run at 80K. Now it runs at 100K. Jagex ftl. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
DjMIKE
Gotta test this. Last time I tried to play Chessmaster 10th edition while doing mundane stuff in RS, the chess program was exteremely laggy and completely froze many times, so I gave up on it. Let's try now then..' EDIT: Nay, doesn't work. As soon as the game was out of the opening book and the computer had to think, everything froze untill I forced it to close. Too bad. ElvenFaith
Yea... the memory usage shot up by over 30% for me... >_< I'm just using low detail now which seems to help a little, but even so argh. :(
seekad
when rs was running and nothing else I had about 15-20% memory available, today imediatly after the update I was at 25-30% of the memory available. So its using about 36% less memory. My CPU is still running at 92-100%, but my pc is 6 yrs old and needs to die :P RuneScape HD in 2560x1024!I know the answer and, because I cannot convey screaming feverishly on forums without looking odd or getting banned, just imagine it as such.
