May 18, 200620 yr My friend just fell for. People come up, they are having a drop party in lumby caves, the trade you a candle, and a tinderbox, so you think you are fine. Well you get in there, with whatever you were wearing at the time normally, and your candle goes out. You think 'Oh well, I can relight it' well, you cant. It says there is gas in the cave and it will blow up. So the bugs kill you and scammers get your stuff, the end.
May 18, 200620 yr I've had similar situation as zeekyh, but it was pretty more complicated. It was in falador. So, a guy follows you and tries to get you to 'help' him with something for 100-1000k. 'It will only take 5 minutes'... Well, they can be so annoying that you will go there. He will lead you to fally park and give you a spade with tinderbox and candle. Then he will want you to lit hte candle, and dig in the mole hole. Then he will lead you to a light source, and will tell you to extinguish your candle. (first he will ask you to give the stuff back, except the candle). So, I had a ring of dueling on me and the guy offered me this 100k for extinguishing the candle, so i fell for it. You start getting hit by moles for constant 1s, and there is no time for you to rub the ring/ammy. You die there and the person takes your stuff. I fell for it with my huge stupidity and lost full rune with other stuff (was skulled :/) And like the day after that another guy wanted to scam me like this, so try and not fell for it. Ty pjb21 for this awesome avvy!
May 18, 200620 yr Another easily avoidable scam... Training deep in the wild at the agility course or other place someone usually low combat level asks you to kill them so they don't have to walk all the way back. If you attack them you get skulled, their high level friend pk's you and you lose everything you have with you. I always get pk'ed there anyways but with 3 items I don't want to lose so don't do it. Ya!
May 19, 200620 yr good guide, but its trimmed not tinted armor. Btw, another fix with that...they'll ask to trim all armor, not just that. One more scam: Raise price scam: 2 friends will be selling the same thing both for overpriced prices, but one is significantly lower. The buyer, thinking he/she is getting a good deal, trades the the lower price guy, but it is still way overpriced. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
May 19, 200620 yr I know of a scam basically you get a group of people with somewhat good armor(full rune) and really good armor(like god or something) then the "leader" who is wearing full dragon or something like that goes to crowded place and says "leaving runescape, giving away free stuff, just follow me!" then his group follows him and they all wait for a couple more people to come. following that they go to secluded place and the leader tells everyone that they need to give him their stuff for 10 seconds and he will give back along with good stuff. He pretends to randomly pick someone but really picks one of his buddies, who he pretends to do the trade with. when they are done his buddy puts on his god armour and acts all excited. After a couple more people everyone usually gets really excited and offers up there full trimmed rune or something like that. Then the group all log out at once and go find another world to scam on
May 19, 200620 yr 2 scams i've seen (both failed) switching items out with look alike items. leaf-bladed spear trick works a bunch. um, herblore scam works. most people use the anti-scam trick.. but many people say the un-id's are rannar, when infact they are guam, or they just switch the herbs after you ID the first. I skill. If you skill you should join.
May 19, 200620 yr the mind altar scam... (luring) so your selling something on forums and someone adds you and say "i buy" and they say to meet them near the mind altar, you go there and they are standing behind one of the trees which are in wilderness, they say its not in wild there but its really level 1, you trade with them and their friend pops up to attack. i nearly got killed by this one but i noticed how someone my level popped up at the same spot when i right clicked to trade
May 19, 200620 yr i get the trade scamming where they change item at last second like 200 times a day on world 2
