We all read the constant new topics about party hats increasing in value, and how only the richest of the rich were able to capitalize from the hike in the party hat prices. Then I got to thinking, if Jagex was really against these holiday, aka "rare" items of the past, and how they are damaging the economy, wouldn't they put a stop to them? Wouldn't they brainstorm in their staff meetings, thinking of ways to remove these "rare" items from the game? It really caught me by surprise, the fact that all they would need to do to reduce the value of these items would be to make them open, for instance, making a party hat a quest item. Even if Jagex did this, what would be of those who spent month after month, slaving away to these pixels we all love to hate. So, to say Jagex has a clear cut path to resolving all the problems in this game is selfish. The point of this short analysis is CUT JAGEX SOME SLACK. Another point I'd like to adress, why is it many F2P complain... Don't get me confused, I'm not saying all do, but for those who do complain, pay the $5.00 or quit, no need to complain if you don't pay. I tell the truth even when I lie. silver24-7 Posted May 21, 2006 Share Posted May 21, 2006 I don't see that much f2pers complaining :/ Ohw and about phats, theres absolutely no need to remove phats, or other rares, from runescape. They are a perfect deposit for all the dam useless cash going around. Believe me if it werent for rares your shark would cost 2k ea, and your steel bars not 600gp but 1000gp+ ea. Phats are great and if people really hate them their price will automatically drop. But since most people (including me) just adore to have this exclusive item of which little exist in the entire game right on top their head. I mean why do legends if you won't wear the cape ? Whats the use of fight caves if ur not going to stand in a busy bank where lots of ur friends come by to see what you have accomplished. And don't tell me you want it for the str bonus ;) Theres cheaper ways to hit that 1 damage more... really there are. So just like all those items are for show offs, so are skills, but skills aren't being seen on first sight when u meet someone ingame. A complete new person wouldn't prise zezima over another 126 rightnext to him. And if he knew what a rare was but never got really interested to take a look at hiscores he'd praise the 126 with a santa higher then zezima standing right next to him with bunny ears. jessy87 Posted May 22, 2006 Share Posted May 22, 2006 this is not a religious text, just merely using religious figures as an example. the economy of runescape, is like a living being now. jagex being like a "god", and the economy being like humanity now, lets all pretend we believe in a single god, okay so IF, their is a god, he sure doesn't stop natural disasters from killing people, and he also does not stop man made disasters, such as the twin towers of 911, and such. realistically, he/she/it is their, but in all reality has no influence over us, or should not, yet this "god" does. and jagex is the same. they cant deliver you something from the heavens because of this or that. jagex cant step in and fix every little thing, or else we would become dependant on them. the official forums any more, look to be more like a forgotten section by jagex staff, kind of away for us to "pray" to the "god". now imagine if jagex actually listened to every single message we said? wow the forums would be come over whelmed with people wanting this or that, and who ever had their "prayers" be answered, would surely tell their friends and their friends would think, if they could do it, i could to. + jagex wouldnt step in to an extreme which would force a huge imbalance in enconomy or game play so i really ask you, if party hats were worth NOTHING, 3GP, were public items and could be easily obtained, as if their was a spot in every general store where they would respawn and could be purchased like a tinderbox or jug, would you really want 1? Also, jagex really is like a God, a very careful one. They cannot make too many changes without destroying their world. I do English to Japanese and Japanese to English translation for free!
