Featured Replies

I wanted to log in on my main after a long time (Woopidoo2) and when i wanted to log in I got this message:

We suspect someone knows your password.

Please change your password on the main page.

Well I went to that main page as soon as possible, and I changed it

to a very long - unfigurable pass :)

I was frightened, Its just strange to know that someone wants your money, all of your vulnerable stuff, what youve worked for...

Have you ever got this message? do you know who did it?

I suspect one of my old rs frends, he keeps on beggin for my sara...

Discuss! :)

Same to me. Just changed pass, recoveries and pin.

Tip.it's password database was stolen one day during an upgrade, or something like that. Several accounts were locked like this. Nothing to fear.

This isn't quite true. Read tip.it/runescape for more clarification.

I've never bothered to try, but, I imagine its not to hard to hack a forum such as this one. Heh, note my wicked awesome fake hacking permit.

A couple of my mates from TDM have had this problem over the last couple of days. :(

i got it too. I started shaking, in fear of my hard work being lost to a loser. So i went to change it, set new recovery questions, PIN,a nd im good now.

Yes I have gotten it; pretty sure it's just a way of clearing out old accounts from highscores and such. They "fear someone has stolen your pass" because you simply haven't played in a long time. :D

ForsakenMage,

I guess you probably know that it is jagex's fault for everyone thinking the database was stolen, they state "it has just been brought to our attention that a large unofficial fansite (NOT our site) has had their password database stolen" in their update news. :)

I got the message aswell.. Long story short: I freaked out and changed my pass ASAP, Scanned for viruses, and changed it again  .

not really you just have to know a little about exploits and stuff and im not sure if it was phpbb forums but i was some kind of forum where they messed up in the coding or whatever which easy enough you find it out you can get all the details

never got it. maybe because i changed it as soon as i heard of what happened. glad everyone turned out alright though =)

Not really a hacker with any real skill could do it fairly easily ide say, con sidering they can access credit card records and military databases and other classified stuff.
