Dragon slayer / mage + range pure?

Hello folks.

 

 

 

I was just wondering, im continuing on my pure now when my school is finished in a week. (payed members already)

 

 

 

Im going for high mage, range + defence. (this isnÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôt my question so donÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôt comment on that part) :P

 

 

 

Im gonna do the drag slayer for the range body armor thingy, but i wonder if i can make it mage / range without getting any strenght exp? since i would like to have 1 attack and strenght.

You will always get strength and defense XP, no matter what style you use.

 

 

 

Just wear a rune chain when you're ranging. It doesn't affect your ranging bonus, but gives a nice defense bonus. :wink:

Yeh... Don't bother with Dragon Slayer. Dragonhide makes you fail your spells so much anyway... :?

if youre gunna be p2p it doesnt matter. You only need dragon slayer for green hide chest. All the others only need 40 def. And yes. I am 100% positive about that.

Getting that str bonus won't affect your pures combat, the defence experience will but you want it anyway.

 

 

 

Reward: 18,650 str and def exp.

 

 

 

say yours stats were:

 

1 att

 

1 str

 

33 def (only up to 18500 exp, any further and you go over 40 def from the def reward)

 

45 range

 

45 mage (not sure about these, but this is hypothetical anyway)

 

40 hitpoints (just a guess)

 

 

 

Before the quest: 40 combat

 

After the quest (with 33 str and 40 def): 41 combat (only affected by the gain of the 7 defence lvls)

 

 

 

Since your combat lvl is affected by your str/att, def/hp, range, magic, and prayer having a certain amount of str won't raise your combat at all. You would have to gain about 34 more lvl of str and att (both added up together, so like 20 att and 14 str) to lvl up.

 

 

 

The best part is: you dont even gain any HP exp from the strength lvling, so you combat will still stay lower.

 

 

 

Anyway I hope you understood what I was trying to say, and basically in this post I just wanted to show you that you should do this quest if your wanting the green d hide body (nice range bonus!).

My friend had a range pure but kinda wanted the body. So he ranged Elvarg and got a bucket full of defense levels (no strength if we recall correctly).

 

 

 

Advantage: Out in the wildy, some people can't kill you. One attacker's quote was "Damn your defense!"

 

 

 

Disadvantage: Ups your combat level so much that you end up being PK'd by people who are way stronger than you.

I didnÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôt think of this, but itÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôs true. :D And yea, i understand. But as said earlier, only affects the green drag body. And i can use better in p2p.. AinÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâôt gonna put down so much time on the f2p pking thingy. :roll:

In fact, the only thing that needs the 40 defence is also the body, The chaps and the vamps dont need 40 defence, just 40 range will do.
