File Sizes....

Featured Replies

I can't seem to make any signatures that meet the file size limits. I always come up a little to large or way to large. Any tips on keeping the file sizes to a minimum?

It would help if you posted what program(s) you are using.

As was already mentioned if you have a version of Adobe photoshop you can select save for web and in that window there will be usually next to the preset area (under the save cancel done spot) a small right facing arrow in a circle. Click on it and select optimize to file size (I use 29 kb) it will then compress the image to meet those limits.

As a general rule of thumb to minimize filesize use less colors.

I use The Gimp. I looked for a Save for Web thing but it doesn't have one...

saving as a JPG (jpeg) file is the next best thing for filesize reducing after GIF, though you'd have to reduce the JPG quality enough so it will meet the signature limits: this usually means it will look more blurry and less appealing.
