Try a less color difference, and dont just have it go frm one color to the other, have other specs in between so it looks like they are blended in. Just look at some of the pixel art ones. Some of the bigger ones have shading in them. Next would be anatomy. But as stated, it's not totally bad for a first... Also... Try not to save signatures as jpg... I haven't zoomed in, but it looks a bit weird because of it. I noticed that when looking at it yesterday.
