Password Recovery

Featured Replies

Who thinks the password recovery system used by Jagex is good? It's definatly thorough and ill give them that, but what happend to just e-mailing a password to you at a pre aranged email? There isnt even a confromation telling them they recived the request. opinions please!

I guess they have the we will never email thing so that people cant impersonate jagex. Still when you clik submit the could be a confromation message rather than a black screen

People can fake emails too well for Jagex to ever risk saying they email you.

That contrasts
We Will NEVER Email You

In soviet Russia, never emails YOU!!

Well, jagex must aprove the sending of password by e-mail way, but only to the original e-mail, and to change e-mail you need to know the secret questions, the password and the pin number, but of course, make a new polity:

We will never email you asking for your password or personnal information, only if you request our support.

(Oops, "maps" spelled backwards. Sorry!)

Anyways... I can't really comment on Jagex's password recovery thing because I've never lost my password. (And hopefully never will )

Way back in RS1 times, Jagex used to send password support by Email, but they changed to this current system for more safety as many scammers would send fake jagex emails, scamming passwords and such.

I'd say this is a great system, very secure and doesn't depend on anything outside the RS site.
