a hypothetical question

Featured Replies

hehe, well first off i am going to tell you that you made an wagon of yourself calling your question hypothical(a question that isnt meant to be answered).

but just keep it, his fault, no?

You're thinking of rhetorical question?

where would we be without rhetorical questions? :P

Haha, someone mixed up his rhetoricals and hypotheticals. Yep. That kind of thing happens to me all the time. One time i was sledding down a hill and I just didn't stop, almost hit a fence, in fact.

Put your chat to public, maybe he will find a way to contact you =o

And remember, that fence will hurt.

if you don't know his name then keep it, why would you drop it? don't let some unworthy noob get it (i'm referring to people who are jerks and losers and such). you seem lik a decent guy so you definitly should keep it if anyone (other hten hte original owner of course).

You could always give it to me. ;)

Keep private 'on' for a lil while, if he doesnt pm you then don't worry about it and keep it, or give it to me. :P

Pier pressure?

I can just see you being threatened by a wharf or jetty because you're a teleporter. Yes, I can see a large wooden wharf uprooting itself from the shore, walking over to you and slapping you in the back of the head for teleporting.

EDIT: N64JIVE has had enough people quoting him for today methinks lol

as for what to do with the money its that players own mistake and thats why you have a second trade screen (if he didnt check it its his own silly fault) so its yours...after all its not like you tried to scam him out of it and he got the bows so its not like he lost the money on nothing.

a question that isnt meant to be answered is a retorical question, hypothetical questions are ones that are purly to see what could happen ina situation, e.g. hypothetically how fast would i be able to make money with unlimited prayer and 99 mage at barrows, or something like that

Well in my opinion, you just asked the 'theoretical' question for which n64jive has been searching (see a topic about economy and merchanters). A rhetorical question is indeed the type of question that is not intended to be answered.

I believe a hypothetical question is actually a question about an event that hasn't actually happened (or whose happening is not the relevant point) used to support an argument.

Perhaps we should all go and find a dictionary next time we want to pose a specific type of question or comment on someones ability to employ said type.

Back on topic: Well its his fault, he had the second window, if he contacted you within a day or so of the event and you really felt guilty then give it back. In my opinion you have no reason to do this after several hours have passed, its not your fault. And whilst It would be nice if you dropped some nice shiny stuff for us, I don't really think that would change the fact that that guy lost 'loads' of money.
