This thread if for anyone who wants to post about there HS, JRHS, ect. band. I'm not sure about other areas, but in my area, your out of the group if your NOT in band, no im not exactly a band geek. Well the bassist and the other guitarist are amazing, drummers ok, I'm an ok guitarist and a brilliant vocalist (head explodes). We also have a Noony. He just sits around and dances whilst we play. And its always best to not abbreviate stuff that people wont be totally sure of what it stands for like 'HS'. It is very annoying, and I try to stay as far away from local bands as possible. Plus the scene that follows the local bands makes me want to kill myself. A crappy RHCP covers band which I have to be in because my mum is friends with the drummer's parents and a Jazz band which I really enjoy playing in. Ben Kweller (Radish) started out in his highschool years, Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes has been recording music since he was 13, and many other very good artists started out during/before highschool. I'm not sure what kind of music you listen to (Ska I think?) but we have all different sorts of scenes where I live. We honestly have alot of kids around here that I think are going to go pretty far. I'm not even talking about fast metal playing harcore bands, I'm talking about jazz to experimental types. PM me If you want a link or two you should check out a few. The band is really there for us to have a laugh and maybe, just maybe manage to play all the way through a Chili Peppers track without any of us mucking up. Because I normally listen to music for music, not for laughs. Not to say what you do is bad, I'm just not into that. And I'm totally not judging the quality of music by the genre, because music can be good even if it's not what I like. I was just saying, there is one good one, and the rest are horrible. If you play soccer with friends, but you all pretty much suck, does that mean you shouldn't ever play again? Naaah. You just have to realise you suck, and don't start spreading the word you're great, like many bands and even more solo artists do.
