It's rare

During the past few weeks, I have been merchanting, making around 700K, and during that period I have inevitably met scammers, but more precisely, people who claim normal items as rare.

So, I propose the following changes to stop them. In order of popularity:

-Unfermented Wine- Wine will no longer become Unfermented Wine when you make it. It will be automatically fermented. All current Unferemnted Wine will turn into Jug of Wine.

-Spinach Roll- They will no longer exist. All current Spinach Rolls will turn into Lobsters.

-Bad Wine- Bad Wine will automatically be emptied upon creation. (Message: You squeeze the grapes into the water. The wine ferments and begins to smell funny. It immediately prompts you to pour it out)

-Sliced Banana- Slice Banana will no longer exist. All current uses of sliced banana will now use bananas instead. All existing sliced bananas will turn into two bananas.

-Charcoal- Charcoal will no longer exist. All current uses of charcoal will now use coal instead. All existing charcoal will turn into two coal, and all charcoal respawns will now turn into clay respawns.

That's all. Anything I forgot to add?

Or for all of the Rare items when you examine it it says after the examine Discontinued in brackets for example "It's a red party hat (Discontinued)" That's not the correct examine by the way :P

But then how could i sell my Spinach rolls?!? lol jks..

People just need to be aware of what is rare and what isn't. ^^^^ That is a very good idea (Discontinued). Charcoal is used for a few quests BTW...

<.< meh, jagex would just as soon destroy the real rares as they would do this. Here's a better idea: the next time someone tries to sell banana slices for 20 mil, report them. No one with 20 mil would actually fall for it anyway. even if they get rid of fake rares, there will still be scammers. Blame the scammers, not the items.

They're selling for amounts such as 600K, and not all 600k owners have such knowledge of the RuneScape game.

Most the items you listed are needed for quests and such.... How about just know what is rare and what is not, and you will be safe from a scammer.

Well, then it's time for them to learn, isn't it?

When you have money, you can't afford to "not know" about what you're spending it on. If you end up getting scammed, it's your own fault you were waving around more money than you knew the value of.

Scammers are the RS economy's natural selection mechanism. People with half a sense of morality and ethics use the report abuse button to cull out people whom they see scamming. Nothing hard about that. There's also nothing stopping you from telling someone not to accept a deal because it's a scam.
