Second trade window

Featured Replies

Most of us have been scammed, or at least someone has attempted to scam us.

Personally I have been scammed twice, both times was when I thought that I was getting a great deal and clicked the accept button as fast as I could.

My idea is:

When you get to the second window, you have to wait for 5 seconds before the trade can be completed. The accept button will either not appear for 5 seconds, or will be disabled for 5 seconds. By my reckoning this will cut down on the amount of scammers about.

Post what you think!

Sorry if this is a duplicate of a similar thread though, couldn't find any ;-)

not a bad idea, but i think people should check the second window carefully anyway

This would force them to :P

No actually, I think each item in the second trade window should have a check box, and before you can accept the trade you have to check off the item(s) to make sure that they are what you want.

Go to each Asian restaurant in your town and rub all the Budha statue's bellies you can find

No, I dont want to wait because idiots don't check the 2nd screen!

You must be a scammer or have never been scammed before...

to be fair though, even though i've been scammed before, id rather be able to trade without the wait, as now i check carefully anyway

Maybe only 2 seconds then? Instead of 5. Regarding NDP's suggestion, I think that it would be quite annoying for large trades (e.g if someone actually bought everything from someone's bank sale 8-)). Maybe a tick box for groups of items, ie. one tickbox validates 5 items.

i think that it is a good idea as i have almost been scammed that way

yeah, 2 seconds would be better, or you could make it a check box for the whole trade, then have to click accept as well

If you get scammed it's your own fault. There's no reason to make everyone else wait 5 seconds every time they trade. And the delay isn't going to stop people anyway, if they're in a mad rush because they think they're getting a great deal. There are warnings all over the runescape site to check the 2nd trade window every trade, and somebody (me this time) always posts on every thread on this subject saying to just check the 2nd trade screen to avoid being scammed. the warnings are all around you, you can't blame the window for allowing you to ignore it.

That's basically like adding a trade screen for each item. Read, check. Read, check. That would take way too much time, and be more of a hassle to everyone than just scammers. I think the 5 second idea is alright, and 2 seconds isn't really a difference than now. Either way, it's still making it longer, and people want their items as fast as possible.

God, I totally agree with the check thing, and I've never been scammed once, if you don't wanna wait for them to read everything so they aren't scammed, you're one of two thing, extremly impatient, or a scammer.

I'm back?! No wayz!!!
