I've decided im going to train my magic up with high alching. There's just one problem, I don't know what to alch! Is there an item to alch that will allow me to break even or gain a little bit of profit if I buy my own nats? Any replies will be helpful. Thanks

Me personally, since I work in mining/smithing/magic alot I do this.

Mine and super heat addy bars. Make addy medium helms. Alc. No money lost really since I make my own nats and get my own stuff.

I would say rune meds for F2P and Yew longs for P2P.

The rune meds are sold way below their alch value, so you'll make a profit (i think).

Yew longs will surely give you profit:

- yew log: 250 ea

- bowstring: 150 ea

- nature rune (hard to find because of greedy runecrafters): 300 ea

* Spent: 700 ea

* Gained: 768

* Profit: 68 ea (not bad, and to think you will also get 65 fletching and magic xp).

Buying the item and then alching it directly will ALWAYS result in a loss of money.

If you want to make profit alching, there will have to be some steps in between. For example, making your own nats. Buying the materials and making a yew longbow. Mining ore to make your own steel plates. ETC.

Yew log = 250

Bowstring = 150

Nature Rune = 320

Adds up to 720 gp, alchs for 768.

Yew longbow = 500

Nature rune = 320

Adds up to 820 gp, alchs for 768.

It's like this with almost everything. The only way you'll make profit is doing part of the work yourself.

Greedy?.. Our profits are still down by 30gp per nature rune :wall:

Yew longs are the beset thing to alch - nothing comes close :)

I make a profit anyway seeing as a make my own nats.

we runecrafters are not greedy we are just trying to make up for the raising ess prices.

P.S. im at lvl 52 rcing still have 5k nats to make

This is if you make the bows yourself, and you will need at least 70 fletching to start out with. Don't make yew shorts.

Does anyone happen to know death_siren? She stole a green mask from me, and I think I found my way into her ignore list. If you know anything, please, don't hesitate to give me a pm.
