Long trip to france 21 hours

Featured Replies

I will only have 2 ways to really amuse my self during this 21 hour coach trip.

1] books

2] portable dvd player

Books good ol' books don't need batteries to work...

... But portable dvd players do, i have a 12v portable dvd player. But unfortunately due to my own wrong doing, the battery will only last for about 45 minutes...

On the coach there are no 12v outlets (ciggy lighters) so that's a no hoper.

Any ideas? (I would probally spend ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã30 on accessories)

If no one has any ideas i will have to fall for using a 1/3 size car battery, that used to sit in a electric scooter (the ones that were all the rage 3 years ago. And make a bit of a wire up, in a box.

Thanks soooo much in advance

I dunno how things work in Europe, but they'll probably think your battery with many attached wires is a bomb :-k

Rofl. Yeah, you'll just get in trouble for it.

Books + sightseeing + sleeping would be what I'd recommend

buy a apple nano 1 gig or 2.. buy some audiobooks

One good audiobook or two should last you one trip..

I recomend the Dragon Riders of Pern (you can find it on audiable)

Or the Pegaus Series (both by Anne Mcaffrey)

There's really nothing you can do. Read, sleep, or listen to an mp3 player (not an iPod.. do your research).

excuse me but a ipod plays great music..

It had a banging interface.

It has a EASY TO USE library to buy from.

ITS SUPPORTED BY THE BEST MAJOR AUDIOBOOK SITE ( http://www.audible.com/ )

And if you have a Video... Just about EVERY major TV NETWORK is selling though Itunes...

What "research" does he need to do with those FACTS

I did my research and concluded that an iPod was the best for my uses.

But that aside download a few podcasts, they are a bit like audiobooks but shorter and generrally about real life things rather than stories. I reccomend Skepticality and perhaps something funny like Ricky Gervais' podcast or the Chris Moyles show.

Podcasts

"Buzz Out Loud"

"Diggnation" (audio verison)

"The Onion Radio News"

Twit.Tv Network Podcasts

"Daily Giz Wiz" (trust me thats so fun)

"Security now"

"This Week in Tech" (This one is a must.. since you could listen to the entire series in 3 21 hour flights)

I still recomend Audiable... and one of the Gadgets that can help you get some power for the long flight

the "Inflight Power"

That's something I might check into before I fly again.. I have an Ipod Shuffle so the USB port is built in..

@weez: The only reason I could see for you saying not to get an Ipod is that the batteries need be recharged (not swapped like other MP3 players). In my experience I've found that Ipods are better than many other MP3 players, although it may just be my luck that my Ipod hasn't broken yet.

its quite a usefull deal :)

The diffrence is there is battery packs that will recharge the ipod or run off the battery packs (recharging waste energy in heat.. running off is the best way.) but i don't know how to tell the difrence lol its in the pin configuration
