Ok its looking nice, but I must say this you are such a big HYPOCRITE

Once upon a time you picked on my pixelling saying I used too many colours.

I would like to point out that so far in tht sig you have used 37 colours, 85% of them are used in the shaded area.

Meanwhile I give you 1 almsot complete character that sues only 34 colours:

And on to my second point. On two of my older sigs you gave me a big old ranting crit that stomach muscle definition does not show through metal armour

You can clearly see defintion to stomach muscles in youre shading there

So although your work is gr8, I would suggest you may want to put a bit more thought into what you crit people for, as you have just gone bk on crits u have givne others in ur own work

Colors? 37. Very raw thus far, I havent attempted refinement or unification, just made sure not to use duplicates on my detailed portions.

He doesn't have a crotch? :ohnoes:

Looking nice so far few things to note

His left arm seems abnormally long and then bends a lil wieard

I can't really see a hand on the goblet... just a yellow\brown blob...

His feet seem oddly tilted outward

The whole body seems a bit stiff really...

Left leg (know it isn't finished) Curves out too much...

Yeah i actually agree with SmellySocks. The phat should have kind of a slant that goes outs;would probably add a nice style and dimension.

I also said 'raw, unrefined- with no attempt at pallete unification' I aim to have no more than 30 colors- on the entire piece. That will happen, I guarantee. When I finish, I go through and make sure colours are well used. Your almost complete character doesnt have a buncha stuff thats been roughly colored in in the background either. I beleive almost half the colors used are in the background for rough color direction. And even he is still unfinished, I'll be adjusting colors on him to conform with other colors in the piece later anyways. Notice I didnt say the color count in the original post because I thought that this sort of post might pop up.

Also, I stand by that no- On almost all armour used for say, footsoldiers or utilitarian users, muscles would never show through. But, I exempted this guy, as I said to myself, 'y'know, I bet he could afford to have the extra flair to his breatplate, he's got stylistic finish to his armour. Notice the anatomical inaccuracy- its not real, its been hammered in to make him more imposing.

Wow, you are truly impressive, the colors, the AA, the hue shifts, it is mighty pudry. You hold your own in a place like pixelopolis, you have too be good then. You are truly talented, and to paw claw, he uses his colors to add to his piece, to where your piece most of the shades are unnecessary, and through saturation (correct me if i'm wrong, not fully familliar with the terms, just the actions.) you could lower your color cound in half, just my thought.

^Thanks Weeboab for the awesome sig!

I know the 'How to Make Tiny Carrots' (or HTMTC, as it is known among the elite pixelart circles) is in high demand.

Granted I never saw the bit you posted about the high usage of colours, but I still think the armour bit is hypocritical. I mean in all fairness no pixeled based on a game is going to be 100% realistic and certain features (such as muscles on armour) are just variations that people use in various styles. I mean I know you can't say my sigs look real where I have done tht, but mine are a cartoonish style anyway.

Anyhow, definately is looking very good so far. Can't wait to see how it turns out and its so got me in the mood to go back and finish off tht pixel I used

:-k Soemthing seems off about the phat, maybe its the fact that the bottom is curved (phat looks as though its tilted back) but the top of the phat is flat (as if its laying straight) :notalk: . Looks good though, nice detail put into the shading youve done, its a new style and i like it =D>
