25 December 2002 - Merry Christmas

 

Merry christmas from the Jagex team. We're dropping some santa hats today at random intervals in random places. They're just a bit of fun though, so please don't be too upset if you can't find one. If you manage to get more than one then please consider giving them to your friends as christmas presents. Of course you can sell them but that's not really the spirit of christmas :-)

 

Yeah, the italicized part is somewhat ironic now, considering the incrediblly high street price of Santas (and other holiday rares). All thanks to some greedy kids who wanted to make some quick cash from their unfortunate fellows, all in the name of "merchanting".

 

Err...before this becomes a rant, just wanted to share that with everyone, maybe get someone to chuckle, even wryly, like I did when I found it.

^^ Yeah, I thnik Jagex wanted it to be like 5k (nowadays money) intead of the 20 mil it is.

Maybe Jagex never expected the game to become so popular? :roll:

I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually gave some away to friends who were not on that day. 5 to be exact.

 

 

 

Runescape lost alot of "fun" value the day they stopped scattering items on the ground for us to fight over **misses the good ole days**. :cry:

Yup.. still remember that day.. gave some to friends aswell. It's a shame rares turned out the way they have. They were supposed to be a little fun, but they seem to be the backbone of the economy these days.

silly jagex...inflation is for kids :?
