20,875 songs / 115GB / 1632 hours / 2 and a bit months / 68 days

The difference between Oy's library and mine is that I have lots of prog rock tracks, 10 minutes and longer - hence the longer total time and larger total filesize. That, and a large proportion are over 240kbps, along with plenty of lossless files.

Yeah, I've got a lot of 64kbps files. My avg tracklength is only about 3.5 minutes because I've got a load of Homer and Family Guy-quotes and music in a map. But I also have a lot of live sets which are between 30 and 200 minutes each :-k

Using sound effects to bolster your library should be considered cheating! Average track length here is 4:41, a pretty big difference when you consider that that means I should have 20,000 minutes more than you.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

without the sounds effects and Simpson/Family Guy songs: little less than 21k songs; 3.9min avg; with them 3.85min avg. So barely any difference at all.

I obviously have more short pop songs than you do..

Just a few hundred at most. Could be a lot more but unlike some people, I decided to delete all the crappy songs, which accounts to about 80% of the stuff you find online. You know, if you go on a spree and look for "heavy metal" for example, the sad truth is that random downloading doesn't pay off. Just buy good stuff or look hard for it

If you have a library of 5000 but think even half of that is unnecessary or outright 'boring', I think it's a good idea to free up space on the drive rather than just keep them there for the sake of having a 'big library' :wall:

Yeah, I bought this computer with 165 gig hard disk space, 2gig DDR RAM, 3.6Ghertz clockspeed plus flatscreen etc. last year and I only paid 975̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì for it. Sometimes Dell offers the best computers at a really low price, if you combine various offers of theirs.
