Mercifull
You can go from not liking rap to appreciating Tubac because he actually had talent unlike most rappers. Thinking Tupac is good does not make you a modern rap fan. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Bubsa
Tupac was out of date, if you follow me. He was rapping about things Grandmaster Flash and the earlier contemporaries were, meaningful things, songs that had a great story and a strong message behind them. However, he was doing it during a time of glorified violence and now, later in his death, he's stuck in years associated with rappers like 50 Cent, who wouldn't know what talent is even if it was "spelt liek dis homes, i gots moneez n hoez g g g yoonit". A great rapper. His legacy lives on. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Peter
Tupac is good, but kids kind of blow him out of proportion. He's good but a bit overrated; there are a few other, very talented rappers out there who are worth listening to (Nas, Aesop Rock, Immortal Tecnique, to name a few). But since this is about Tupac: Try getting 'Ghetto Gospel' with Elton John (you'd be suprised...) Also try 'Thugz Mansion [Nas Acoustic]' It's like an acoustic rap, unique. Or go for the original 'Thugz Mansion' which is good too.
Poopingman
He is truly overrated, like most artists that are now deceased. Regardless, hes one of the few rappers I can stand on a fairly regular basis. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
Sunwarriord
Tupac is the greatest lyricist in the rap industry of all time imo. Changes was the first song i heard by him and before that song i abosulelty hated rap and had no respect for it, but the i started listening to Pac's lyrics and was like blown away. It really like bugs me when people act like Tupac was this like thug and promoted violence and [cabbage]. Like Tupac was a good guy, he was a poet and wrote about like how the world is racially unfair and needs to solve that and help out all the people stuck in poverty and [cabbage]. like Tupac should be known as well as like Martin Luther King and Malcom X as one of the greatest black actavists. Lyrics are the main reason i'll listen to a rap song, and thats pretty much why i enjoy a lot of Tupac. His best sogns imo are Changes (like the whole song is quotable even if hte beginnin is from Wonder if heaven's got a ghetto), Dear Mama (this song showed like his compationate side), Hail Mary, I Ain't Mad At Cha, Look Through My Rear View, California Love, My Ambitionz as a Ridah, Thugz Mansion, Ghetto Gospel, Keep Ya Head Up, Runnin, Life Goes On, Brenda's Got a Baby, Hit Em Up (this song is probably the reason he was shot) Still i think he's alive, he's comin back 7/7/07!!!! if he doesn't come back then i'll give up, but as of right now thats what i think.
