Prayer Drain Rates

Featured Replies

I didn't notice a difference in prayer drain rates when killing steels and those green ghost things for slayer (sorry I can't remember there name right now).

i just did a test - 30 prayer points in 107 seconds, with +5 prayer bonus. is that normal?

Btw, according to you, and according to a forumula I made a long time ago, prayer is EXACTLY AS IT ALWAYS HAS BEEN.

A +5 prayer bonus should render you about 107 seconds of time, using 30 prayer points. That matches my formula that I created EXACTLY. (although I technically get 106.7 seconds when I use my formula, but your 107 is close enough since you are a human, and you are thus prone to error). :)

Scroll to "elusive prayer bonus" to see a very in-depth study that I did a long time ago. According to your measurement, prayer is still the same as it always has been.

Oh, and here's the equation I did a long time ago. As I said, the full explanation is on the link that I mentioned above.

[ 3 + (Prayer Bonus) x (1/9)] x {[Prayer Level] + [(Prayer Level) x (1/3) x (# of Prayer Pots) x (# of Doses)]} / 60 = Number of minutes your prayer will last

Plug in the variables for yourself if you want.

I'm still using the same amount of p pots, in fact, less. I see no difference in drain rate, you people need to learn to count or something :) I've been doing my barrow runs in 1-2 DOSES of prayer pot, I just did 4 barrow runs with 1 p pot (4) so yeah, prayer has NOT been draining faster.

90 percent of the prayer drain from Barrows comes from the automatic drain every 10 seconds or so, so you wouldn't see much of a difference.

And also, you keep getting better at the Barrows the more you do it, due to practice.

I'll post my fight caves experiment when I'm done. We'll see if there's a significant difference from previous attempts.

Same amount of waves. Same range level. Same prayer level. Same inventory. Same equipment. Same combat process. Almost a full hour of prayer usage.

It should be a telling test.

A circus in Runescape?? Oh my.

*ahem*

Did you read my post? I'm not sure how much more clear it could be...

With affirmation by Jagex on top of supporting my study, I'd have a dam hard time believing that prayer drains faster.

Not to mention the fight caves seem to vary quite a bit more than any other way of telling how much prayer you'd use...

And no offense or anything, I'm just trying to get this issue resolved.

Yet another rumor to be passed through the mill and sent downstream for eternity.

This one is right up there with such favorites as "karils and ahrims got upgraded", "magic influences magic defense not just armour stats or defense stat:, "agility effects range defense".

Sorry Unbug, but ppl just like to speculate and pass rumors around.

Thing is... Magic level DOES effect mage defense. =;

From the Runescape Knowledge Base:

What affects my magic defence?

Magic defence depends on your magic skill level, defence level and the magic equipment you are wearing.

The higher your skill levels and magic bonus, the less likely you are to get hit. You will also receive less damage from a spell.
