SAGE
Well since some of you didn't realise I will quote the last bit in the post about Postbag from the Hedge or whatever Jagex has decided to name the waste of time that nobody pays attention too- Next month - I offer some of my exclusive "Postie Pete diet tips", which may include hints on how to prise dwarfs out of pie dishes. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - The first edition of the Postbag Gallery will come out later this year, but first we need your pictures! You might not want to write to your favorite NPCs... but you might like to make a picture of them. Perhaps you've built the KBD lair out of clay or drawn a picture of Lumbridge Castle at night... we want to see them! Take pictures or scan the images and send them to us at the normal postbag address. Look out for the Postbag Gallery soon! Write your letters and send your pictures to As most of us are aware the Runescape fansite communities are filled with quite decent artists whether is be pixels, digital paintings and so on so my guess is there will be floodings of people claiming such works as Misterxman's as their own and so on. There must be a way to counter this as it is quite easy to send something to Jagex as your own. Also what about those who host their works on DeviantArt? Are they not copyrighted when you upload them onto that site, will this cause problems for people who try claim works as their own, will this cause problems for Jagex? Personally there should be a post in The Gallery aswell as an extra warning because I personally would hate some loser to take one of my old pieces, send it to Jagex and be credited for it. Severation
I just guess artists are gonna have to be extra careful. Sign your work.
pryomancer
A watermark pretty much ruins artwork, even if it is for safety Well if Jagex does find out anyone is ripping work, then can ban them lol much worse for ppl than just gettin banned on a fansite, but if they face getting banned on the actual games they may think otherwise
cadburys_egg
A watermark pretty much ruins artwork, even if it is for safety Well if Jagex does find out anyone is ripping work, then can ban them lol much worse for ppl than just gettin banned on a fansite, but if they face getting banned on the actual games they may think otherwise Yes, let's ban our members for something outside of a game. Although they reserve the right to ban no matter what, I doubt they'd ban someone for a ripped entry. And i'm sure more than one person might rip the same image which they'd spot and just no enter either of them or warn. Or just ask for proof that they made it, i.e. change text or character etc. I'm glad you posted this Hypnotic, i'm sure it may have saved some people. misterxman
Any artwork that is uploaded is automatically copyrighted. If someone rips your work, you can report them to a site mod/admin which will eventually take off the ripped work. This is an interesting case however, it would be easier to prove copyright when people send in original never-before-seen work, but now people may try to rip existing artwork that is in view to all. Hopefully, Jagex will look into their submissions and make sure no ripping's happen. Now if Jagex uploads ripped work, I'd suggest you send them an email or query addressing the problem, showing plenty of evidence, links, early versions of your work and so on, so they can prove it was a rip and remove it. If they don't respond, just keep trying till they do, because copyright is a pretty serious thing and I doubt Jagex would ignore such rules. Sent mine in. lazy_cat
I sign my work and dated them too. :) Does anyone know if there's a file size limit? It has to be in .jpeg and sent as an attachment in the email but do they restrict a certain file size? I would like to send in a larger and higher resolution of my work if there isn't a limit (of course, it won't be something like 2mbs). P.S. For the people that succesfully (no postmaster errors) sent in works. What email service did you use (yahoo, hotmail, gmail and etc.) and how did you go about sending it? I've read several complaints or problems where people got blacklisted when they encountered the postmaster errors. I would like to avoid that kind of problem... :ohnoes: Thanks. .: Gallery :. Away :( -cheers all!
Fnaa
I sent about 10 of my comics in to them. Hopefully they do some research on all their submitants, so that people won't also send in some of my stuff. Good job warning people about this. I hope everything turns out well for everyone. Feel free to use this sig as yours if you like the comic. :D
