Don't u just hate it?

 

I mean, you have to type the words, so people can't hear how you would say it in real life.

 

Last time, I was talking to a friend, and he asked me some questions.

 

I answered him, and I was happy in real life.

 

I didn't care he asked me a thing, I was glad to help.

 

So when you would here me in real life, I would just talk normal.

 

Tough, he answered: "Srr, you don't have to be rude"

 

I wasn't rude! Tough, he tought I was mad...

 

 

 

Sometimes I hate it...

 

Anyone else ever had this?

he is talking about saying something in the game and people thinking that you had an attitude when you really didnt. or people thinking that you were being mean about something when you were just trying to make a little joke.

 

 

 

i know what you are talking about. i have been yelled at before about being "rude" and "mean" when i was just trying to joke around. it can unfortunately be hard to joke around with a person in the game without being obvious about it.

Wrong interpretation means the same as misinterpretation.

 

 

 

That happens to me at times. If someone thinks I'm being rude, and I wasn't trying to be rude, I just say "Sorry, I typed it wrong. I'm tired, lol." People will understand that, and realize that you were not trying to be rude.

I don't like when people type so fast they can't form complete sentences, let alone spell anything right and you have no idea what they said in the first place.

I agree though that misinterpretation of typed communication is common. so much information is passed from person to person through non-verbal signals, which cannot be easily transposed into text, if you even realize what they are. things like tone, posture, facial expression and so forth.

Yes it's annoying, but I try to tell them I wasn't mad, like for example:

 

 

 

Me: [garden tool] much?

 

Her: You called me [garden tool]!!

 

Me: I said how!! I meant how!!

 

Her: Nvm, your mean, noob

 

Her: Logs out.

 

 

 

That's why we have emotes. O:)
