  1. Just on the concept of neutrality/balance, I would like to point out that the very basis of the idaeas of good and evil are relative. In other words without both there is no basis for comparison. the idea of needing a blessing to even out a murder is not right the concept is that without the idea of murder there could be no idea of blessing. pretty lame analogy but someone else used it. what i am trying to say is that if there was no good (or bad) there would be no opposite. Imagine a utopian world without evil...without evil as a base for comparison how would you describe good. It is nescesary to have both ends of the spectrum in order to determine if something is good or evil. this is a very messy post but i am at work and dont have much time to elaborate.
  2. Love it...I so often try to explain that a one in a thousand chance does not mean you are going to get one out of a thousand. I agree that each drop is a discrete and individual occurance and love your analysis. a percentage chance is far more valuable information than a drop rate. Kudos for being bothered.
  3. m8 is an abbreviation of the very Australian term "mate", which can be used in reference to your dearest friend, someone you just meet or anywhere in between. It is the equivalent to the American buddy (if that term is still in use). I started using this contraction about a year ago when i started playing... could i be a trendsetter... hmmmm, is destroying the english language something to be proud of?
  4. Quick point, off topic... you know there are other predator movies and a series of comics which explain far more about the predators than the rather lame alien vs predator, the flaying scenes in number 1 and where ARNIE manages to run away from a nuclear blast are awesome. on topic nice theory, well thought out with some decent justifications, you should join your debate team cause you can present a good arguement.
  5. I just have to comment that UBER does not men fat. a closer translation would be "super" or maybe "the best" Did you know that superman was a german creation called ubermench I think i spelt that right but translated = super man Uber = fat where do you get these ideas
  6. The first thing i did when i became a member was to go for a great big explore. Ended up near Shilo...got poisoned....died
  7. Sorry Nabbagad I know my post count is nowhere near yours but i just dont recognise your name. 1/10
  8. I have always found that the flesh crawlers in the security stronghold have nice herb drops and are aggressive to boot and if you find the right room (east and south of the entrance) there are enough there to keep me on my toes just collecting the drops. I rarely keep herbs below Ranaar. Another tip is that while killing unicorns i generally bring a knife and an axe (hachet) with me to just east of seers and make arrow shafts while waiting for the unicorns to respawn...keeps the boredom down just that little bit.
  9. The food required for the lizard to operate is the same as the bait used to catch it. It the case of green lizards from morytania combine one crushed Guam with 15 swamp tar (lumbridge swamp) and you will have guam tar. equip this as if it were arrows with the lizard equiped and watch the flames fly
  10. Did anyone else notice that on the first day you could make thirty guam tars out of one crushed guam. The guide had said 15 and now it only make 15 but for the first day it would make two lots of fifteen.
  11. I do not agree with all the sentiments expressed in the article. As much as i dislike being begged for stuff (only tot lvl 1230, what do they think i'll have?), the fact that runescape is so non-linear to allow this type of behavior is a major drawcard for me. I like the idea of a virtual world where interactions between players is not limited to basic gameplay. The fact that begging, merchanting, setting up businesses has become an integral part of the game are signs of the vast freedoms allowed to players within the runescape framework. In regards to the editors statement that begging doesnt work in the real world one only has to look at india to see that begging can encourage a movement/distribution of wealth from the wealthy to the poor.
  12. Well this happened to me just this morning. I was training at the fire giants in brimhaven when all of a sudden the guy next to me dies. I grabbed a: dhorak helm, glory tally, d b axe, ddp ++ and a bunch of runes. 10 minutes later the guy is back begging for his stuff and paying to much attention to his typing and the wild dogs kill him again and i got to pick up his great axe. Other people got other items so the guy who died must be feeling a bit low today. Perhaps i should have given him some of his stuff back but how will he ever learn to pay attention without some negative reinforcement.
  13. There is actually a lot of confusion and contradiction in the rules when it comes to account sharing with a child. The rules even recommend a jiont account for children under 13 with their parents. you people who are flaming about account shaing obviously dont have a child and should perhaps do a bit more research before laying down the law. The child was obviously a bit silly to hand out their pass but that is not odd when dealing with children. I have had a similiar issue arise from my son but we found that an apology coupled with an explanation of the circumstance (stolen pass) and childs age (to excuse handing out pass) with an assurance of a pass change got him unbanned. I am so impressed with those of you flame a request for help and your obsessive fasination with poorly defined rules.
  14. OK I have a tricky one, three men go to a hotel to stay the night. Problem is there is only one room so they decide to share. the room costs 25$ for the night but the desk clerk is a scammy fellow and charges them 30$ for the night. Each man pays 10$ (10 * 3 = 30) The manager however notices what the sly clerk is up to and demands that he return the extra 5 dollars. So the clerk takes 5 1 dollar bill out of the till... on his way to the room the evil clerk decides it is to hard to divide 5$ three ways so he quickly pockets 2 1 dollar bills and give each man one dollar change. This means that each man has paid 9$ (10-1=9). the problem arises when you do a check sum. 3 men @ 9$ each equals 27 doallrs and the clerk has two dollars in his pocket. THIS ONLY EQUALS 29 DOLLARS AND THEY DEFINATELY PAID 30 ORIGINALLY. WHERE HAS THE DOLLAR GONE.
  15. i have two quotes one classic from romeo and juliet (that shakespeare was a randy old git) i believe it is mercutio speaking to juliets nanny A hoary old hare and hairy old [bleep] are both good meat for lent but a clapped out [bleep] isnt good any more for a pimp or a lusty gent the other i stumbled across in my readings as a urban design and shows (to me) how elegant language can be " i far prefer the towering architecture of the Bg Mac to the sprawling wasteland of the quarterpounder"
