Am I ready for barrows?

My stats (hopefully) are in my sig, im posting my inventory and equipment below, please be patient as i am not good at posting pictures and always end up with those annoying tiny thumbnails If anybody knows how to get big images from imageshack please tell me!

 

 

 

EDIT: Yay i finally got it! You need firefox as your web browser though. First you upload the image, then right click it and select copy image location (an option IE does not have because Micrsoft is so stupid). Put this in image brackets and voila!

 

 

 

 

 

I will of course, bring more minds and deaths and a spade. I would range Ahrim, and mage the other 5. I would wear the rune on Guthan. Would it be safe for me not to use prayer on him? Would it be safe to wear rune and not pray on Torag? PLEASE answer. Btw i also hope to muster enough self control to do Horror From the Deep and get a prayer book sometime soon so that would replace the antidragon shield.

 

 

 

EDIT: Ooops lol forgot to put ectophial in pic :oops: The other space is for a spade. (the stupid leprochaun has my only one, and i was far too lazy to go all the way from Burthorpe to Taverly to get it \ ) In regard to the robes, i was thinking about getting prayer and mage bonus. I suppose i could just bring monk robes instead, I just dumped all my money into a whip (and they have dropped 200k in the 4 days since :wall: ), so I cant really afford mystic robes atm :boohoo: Btw what is the best way to kill the creatures in the tunnels? Just range them?

i woould say your ready, most ppl 80+ do it , and on your 1st few trip i would suggest you use prayer on all of them. Do you have any better clothes as mystic or somthing? i dont think zammy robes are good

If you plan on not praying on some of them, always safe eat, don't let your health drop too low. Especially on Guthan, sometimes you'll get unlucky and he'll hit like 24, 18, 22. When I barrow, i use my base prayer on Dharok, leftover on Karil, and pray on none of the others.

I was lower level than you when I started barrows.

 

And I do not use rune, or monk robes. I use Initiate armor, as I gives some prayer bonus too, and a glory. You also need d scimi, d long or whip for tunels, to save some runes. 9 prayer potions are way to much. bring 5-6 first time, and later you will take less and less. I use 4-5 dose now, and it will probably go down to 3-4.

 

 

 

My inventory is:

 

1. Spade

 

2. House teleport

 

3. 200 x Death rune

 

4. 800 x Mind rune

 

5. Red dhide body

 

6. Red dhide legs

 

7. Whip

 

8. Magic shortbow.

 

9. 5 x prayer pot (justo to be safe. never use more than 2)

 

10. 15 x Karambwan (heal 18, cost 100) or Monkfish

 

 

 

On me:

 

Initiate full (helm, pl8 and legs)

 

God cape (you should take it insted of legends)

 

Glory amulet

 

200 Rune arrows (100 is more then enough)

 

Slayer staff

 

Zamy book

 

Barrows glowes

 

Mitril boots (I got them from jellys, dont want to buy rune jet)

 

 

 

I pray on Dhark (always do him first), Ahrim and Karil.

 

I pray on Verac, unitl I spend what is rest ofprayer.

 

Torak and Guthan I try without prayer, and if they start to hit hard, I heal and use 1 dose.

 

 

 

I always pray in tunels on brother, and newer while geting kill count.

 

 

 

This is my way, and I do not claim to be the best, but it work for me, and it is not expensive if you die (you will save whip, and full initiate is 20k) (and I did not die in barrows until now)

 

 

 

I think that ranging in tunel is waste of rune arrows.

replace the Slayer Dart with Fire Bolt on Chaos Gauntlets. Reason? Its not economical at your level. I suggest get it to at least 70 before you start using it for barrows.

 

 

 

Other than that, you are good. Maybe replace that shield with Broodoo shield (so you get better bonuses everywhere) and holy symbol with an unholy one and you are good to go.

You can do barrows with those levels.

 

 

 

I suggest wearing rune or black hide body and legs. You can still hit with your mage through these. Other than this get a good mage attack bonus, god cape, mystic gloves, wizard boots if you can afford, farseer, glory.

 

 

 

Mage all except ahrims, range him wearing black hides and use good arrows. I use rune arrows and he goes down so fast its ridiculous.

 

 

 

You should definitely pray through your first few goes.

 

 

 

Melee in the tunnels, until the 6th brother, then put your mage back on and use pray pots. The tunnels take a few runs to get used to, gotta remember the way out too, unless your gonna tele each time.

 

 

 

If you've done aid of myreque you can use the bank in burgh de rott, very useful for barrows, just gotta use a pot to recharge prayer.

 

 

 

Read the tipit guide and the ones in the archive of wisdom too.

 

 

 

Finally good luck, I managed to get a greataxe on my first run, which was yesterday :D . Today I died to guthan in the tunnel lol, got koed with 23 20, so watch your prayer, it drains fast. Keep hp and prayer up until you've done enough runs to be confident.

OK so here is my revised plan:

 

Replace zammy robes with monk robes

 

Replace cape of legends with zammy cape

 

Replace antidragon shield with guthix book (lol its the cheapest, i might not even put pages in it :P )

 

Less prayer potions, i guess i will use the space for more food

 

d scimmy (i dont care if i will keep a whip no matter what i am not bringing it into tunnels and do not try to reason with me! lol)

 

For those of you who did not read my full post, i will bring a spade along. I will probably bring an ectophial for emergencies, but bank at burth de rott. (what exactly happens after opening the chest? guides say the tunnels collapse, what exactly does that do?)

 

On a final note, can i get any second opnions on whether i should use slayer dart or fire bolt w/chaos gauntlets?

I pray everyone and only use 3 pray pots a trip, so you might as well. You're pray get drained down there anyways, might as well use what you got ^.^

 

 

 

Guthan can't really heal that fast, i just use monk robes on him too and do fine.

 

 

 

SLAYER DART! You get all you're runes back plus some, and it's just as good or better.

 

 

 

I believe if you let the tunnel collapse all the way, you die. Not sure though, never let it happen.

 

 

 

I use a lumby tele tablet, and bank and the culinaromancers chest, and recharge prayer. Then use fairy rings to go from zanaris (S of lumby) to the mushroom patch (N of swamp).

To answer the barrows question, yes, you could, i have lvl 80 friends that destroy at barrows, the only brother(s) that are really annoying are dharok and ahrim, but ahrim is easy to take care of. And the horror from the deep question, i did it a lvl 71, and im not a pure, so you could do it easy! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Hmmmm... I think i will use fire bolt with gauntlets until the runes i have gotten directly out of the chest will pay for magic dart. Btw, why is everybody putting barrows in orange?
