Prankster_King
I've been playing Runescape for a very long time. In that time, you tend to notice things in Runescape that could be changed for the benefit of its players. I've decided to keep a small log of all of the changes that should be made: Longswords and Shortswords should look more link swords, and not just some long sticks. You should be able to see the flat edges, and pointed tip. **The level 45 skeletons located under Karajma should drop Big Bones instead of Regular Bones. Have you seen the size of those things? Their huge! Combat should be altered so it is more exciting. Training combat isn't any fun at all these days. All you do is click on a monster and let your person whack him to death... Come on Jagex, spice it up some. Regular Trees should produce at least 2 logs, insted of one. How is it possible to get just one log, from a whole tree? Wouldn't it be a bit more realistic if you got "Small Bones" from certain foods? If you don't get what I'm saying, think of it this way. You cook and eat a whole chicken. Did you just eat the whole thing, bones and all? Wouldn't it be a bit more realistic if food you ate dropped Small Bones? I understand that this would get in the way of pking and such, when food is replaced with its bones. Due to that, I thought it should be possible to cut out the bones from the food with a knife. Boneless chicken! Imagine that. *It was recomended that "Fish Bones" be dropped from fish once you ate them.* The size of ore when you drop it on the ground should be a bit smaller... Would you really be carrying around 28 Iron Ores if they were bigger than your characters upper body? :? **You should be able to sit on benches and chairs. I know that this is possible in player owned houses, but why isn't it possible in the rest of the world? Make tools wieldable. Which tools do I mean? I mean hammers, knives, and shears! It would be much more realistic if you could actually wield the hammer your using while smithing bars. You wouldn't just leave it in your pack all day. It's the same with knives and shears. Hammers and knives could even act as a low leveled weapon for newer players. In the real medieval days, people used to use knives and hammers as weapons. Why shouldn't the characters of Runescape? **Drop X Coins. Wouldn't it be great if you could drop just a certain amount of coins, tokens, and all of those other types of currencies? If you were carrying around 50 coins in real life, you wouldn't just dump them all. You should be able to select "Drop x", then type in the amount you want to drop. You can offer x coins in trading, so why can't you drop x coins? Though this may be a pointless update to you, it would be a bit more realistic. Why should the game be more realistic? It would add to the playing quality. There should be more crumbled forts and houses in the wilderness. The wilderness is one big battlefield. Wouldn't it make sense that crumbled forts would gather over time, as wars were waged over the decades? You should be able to range and mage over low obstacles. I've been around the entire world, and have seen so many places that you should be alowed to shoot over. Let's take the crumbled areas in the walls of the Bandit Camp as an example. You should be able to shoot right through them, but you can't. That just doesn't make sense. **Beer should make your character drunk. It's beer for crying out loud! If you drink enough beer to get your attack to 0, your character should be swaying some at least! An awesome effect would be your messages being automatically slurred. They could program it so that certain words would replace others. For example, instead of saying "please", you would say "pleasshh". **Stick some creatures in the moat around the Dark Knights Fortress. That would greatly add to the whole "wilderness, beware" effect. Why is it you can stand on fire, and not feel a thing? The least they could do is make your character say "Ouch!" when you stand on a fire. *This wouldn't cause damage* **Wouldn't it be pretty cool if they added a selection of smileys you could add in your messages? They don't have to be big, color filled, or animated. They can just be your regular ": )" ": (" ": P" etc. They could stick a link to the selection of smileys right there in the tool bar. Raccoons wandering around Runescape during the daytime? That's a bit odd... They should research the term "rabies". *Shade robes should look more like actual shade robes, and not priest gowns. *Be able to turn off the opening theme music. *= Newer idea **= Supported idea There are more to come, but I do not have the time to post them now. It's getting late, and I can't stay awake forever. :) I'll edit this and add more when I can. Feel free to discuss the changes I listed. If you think one of them is a bad idea, feel free to post it. All I ask is that you give a reasonable explanation as to why it's a bad idea. Also, feel free to post your own ideas for small changes. I will be happy to post any reasonable ideas on my list. ThurinEthir
Longswords and Shortswords should look more link swords, and not just some long sticks. You should be able to see the flat edges, and pointed tip. Doesn't really matter, I have a rune scimmy. And I plan on getting a dragon dagger after I reach 60 attack and do Lost City. The level 45 skeletons located under Karajma should drop Big Bones instead of Regular Bones. Have you seen the size of those things? Their huge! Yes, they're huge. And they're all bones. Why not, prayer is too hard to train on F2P IMO. Combat should be altered so it is more exciting. Training combat isn't any fun at all these days. All you do is click on a monster and let your person whack him to death... Come on Jagex, spice it up some. Like what? Click on the monster every time you want to attack it? I won't support this part unless you give an example... Regular Trees should produce at least 2 logs, insted of one. How is it possible to get just one log, from a whole tree? Most people that cut normal trees are low-leveled woodcutters. Meaning they aren't that skilled with an axe, so they just randomly hack at the tree. Chopping off all the branches and potential logs into small pieces. From fish, maybe. A new type of bones called "fish bones" would be cool. But for chickens and cows, they already drop bones when you kill them. So when you kill the animal, you manage to hack out the bones from the meat, although the image of a raw chicken shows some bones. The size of ore when you drop it on the ground should be a bit smaller... Would you really be carrying around 28 Iron Ores if they were bigger than your characters upper body? :? Does it really matter? I wouldn't really care, but why not... You should be able to sit on benches and chairs. I know that this is possible in player owned houses, but why isn't it possible in the rest of the world? The point? There probably isn't one, but oh well...Why not... Two words. Too easy. Yes, it's only going to be one extra thing made, but it can add up after a while. Especially the XP. Drop X Coins. Oui oui! And also for runes too. There should be more crumbled forts and houses in the wilderness. The wilderness is one big battlefield. Wouldn't it make sense that crumbled forts would gather over time, as wars were waged over the decades? Maybe during the god wars, almost everything in the wilderness disappeared. Including buildings. The only point in this would be more safe spots for rangers and mages. I NEVER PK, but I do go to the Wilderness for other reasons, so no to this suggestion. Once again, it makes maging and ranging easier. In the wilderness, NO. In other places, maybe. Beer should make your character drunk. It's beer for crying out loud! If you drink enough beer to get your attack to 0, your character should be swaying some at least! An awesome effect would be your messages being automatically slurred. They could program it so that certain words would replace others. For example, instead of saying "please", you would say "pleasshh". Yeah, show the consequences of drinking alcohol. Don't drink and drive! Don't drink alcohol! Don't do drogs! Don't smoke! Sounds like my health teacher...I guess this would be an interesting addition... Stick some creatures in the moat around the Dark Knights Fortress. That would greatly add to the whole "wilderness, beware" effect. Ooh, crocodiles? As a tribute to Steve Erwin, it would be interesting. But I don't really see it happening, didn't the wilderness graphics get updated not that long ago? Why is it you can stand on fire, and not feel a thing? The least they could do is make your character say "Ouch!" when you stand on a fire. Okaaaaay....Imagine Karamja...This guy lights a fire on the dock, where there are a lot of people. Screen is filled with "Ouch!". Wouldn't it be pretty cool if they added a selection of smileys you could add in your messages? They don't have to be big, color filled, or animated. They can just be your regular ": )" ": (" ": P" etc. They could stick a link to the selection of smileys right there in the tool bar. Well, there's the forum smileys. Yes, F2P can't use them. Maybe... Raccoons wandering around Runescape during the daytime? That's a bit odd... They should research the term "rabies". Is this a suggestion? Or just a random thing you decided to put? Dalcyte
you have some good suggestions such as the longswords and shortswords thing. But pretty much the rest of your suggestions i disagree with...if you've played runescape for a while, you should know that its not about being realistic, its about having fun. So what if you eat the whole chicken, or racoons or out during day (that was a ridiculous thing, how can they tell night from day depending on the player's time zone, and its just picky) Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
aur0n_ranger
In my opinion they are all awesome i'd also like to add that Jagex realy needs to start listening to the players and doing things to the benefit of them like for example the new bank layout people have been suggesting theres a thread somewhere on tip.it. Join the campaign for more F2P Bank space!Join the petition for a new bank page layout!http://z10.invisionfree.com/clanunexpected
Myztikal
Why is it you can stand on fire, and not feel a thing? The least they could do is make your character say "Ouch!" when you stand on a fire. I can imagine a dude with a rare item or something, hes been poisoned and low on health. Hes running to the bank to bank his stuff and someone lights a fire underneath him.. "Ouch!" .. 'Oh Dear, you are dead!' Firemaking FTW!!! :D Suffering gives you hate. Hate gives you anger. Anger gives you strength. Strength gives you power...
Made0f12une
About the beer Previously in the fremminik Trails, after you dark the keg, didnt it make it so your screen swayed when you walked? Or was I getting confused with another quest... I was greatly disapointed since this seemed like a fun/funny aspect of the game. I think making the screen sway/slurred speach and wobbley players would be awsome. AS for the other ideas, i support ^^ClicK^^"I backed my car into a cop car the other dayWell he just drove off sometimes life's ok...Alright already we'll all float onAlright don't worry we'll all float on" - Isaac BrockDays Hunting:4 - Kingly Imps Caught:2Money Earned: 4.5-5m
Prankster_King
I thank everyone for their opinions. With your help, I can weed out some of my more random ideas that aren't as good. As for the fires, it wouldn't cause damage. It would be chaos if it did. Perhaps you only say "ouch" if you stand on it for a long period of time?
