  1. Open to just about anything, just need some general tips on how to get me back on my feet again. Cash reserves are very low (300k) Thanks!
  2. Kingly Imps and Crowns are tanking hard right now :L
  3. 1. Would you still play this game 5 years hence? Its hard to tell, I could be; I never wouldve thought I'd still be playing 8 years later hah 2. What would KEEP you playing this game? (surely something Jagex is seriously interested in) If so, what? (shops that sell phats and whips for 1 gp?) Its hard to tell what keeps me coming back. The HD graphics was definitely a point of interest. The vastness of Runescape is one of few games that I've yet to complete to its end.
  4. Heres my collection of old stuff. Sadly this is all I have left from my RSC flicks :[ Bug Fix Box A VERY VERY aged stat picture haha Recovered my account after 262 days of inactivity haha An old picture edit I did forever ago Flick of my Cranador map and Bluerite sword. Still have my Cranador map too, although I think I misplaced my bluerite sword double. Oldest picture of my account I have. Hence the date on the client reads '03, Strangely enough I took that screenshot on my birthday haha. Pretty its because someone traded my Santa for their Party Hat that day. A flick of myself, my brother, and our best RSC mate
  5. I recently got a new laptop (keep in mind my moms Dell overheated and we had to replace the hard drive and I encountered a similar problem with that). Essentially its pretty beats hardware wise and shouldn't have problems running Runescape. When in game there's no "interenet lag" per-say, like i gave move about the game just fine without experiencing lag. Its the visual elements that have problems loading quickly. First example: Teleported to seers, took a minute for the stone wall texture, and tree textures to load. Second example: Opened the magic tab, took a minute for all the icons to load up. Why aren't these things appearing instantly like they normally should? Any ideas?
  6. Its a conspiracy! Jagex is plotting against us nooooessss!
  7. Back in my day Jagex released sleeping bags, and before that mining was the only skill that gave you "fatigue"... Then again, Jagex made both of those completely obsolete with randoms :)
  8. I voted farming :] I love farming and its thee oldest of the newest (non-rsc) skills that were released. I'd be very interesting to see what Jagex could dream up for us die-hard farmers Strawberries are the best agility food, they heal 55 each at my combat level and you can put 5 in a basket, so 275lp per space! That being said I really regret my 255 strawberry baskets I sold when I stopped farming them -.-
  9. This sparks an idea! I wonder how many people from the cheating/marcoing/private server communities will attend, id laugh if a riot/bar brawl broke out between Jagex staff and Runescape Underground :D
  10. Agreed ^ On a final note: You'll come back, THEY ALWAYS COME BACK! Jagex's motto: If we build it they will come; horrifying enough as it is, sadly its come true.
  11. i tired that on a willow tree and the farmer asked for an basket of apples, which is what you pay him to protect the patch. where does the 200gp come in?
  12. It mentions regular trees, does this all trees other then spirit? If so how do you get the farmer to have the tree cut for you?
  13. Nope, pretty sure they've always been this stupid :] I remember in RSC when Shanty's Pass was introduced some of the "red tickets" (aka Shantys Pass) got leaked in to the free version of the game and instantly sold for a relatively high market retail value edit: in retrospect, so did sleeping bags when they were introduced haha
  14. I'm a bit late for this post however, I DO, I DO! I suppose I should I post something at least relative to the topic. If any of you are considering members I'll tell you right up, once you subscribe once, you're a subscriber for life, in my case at least. Once your subsciption runs out it'll be hard to empty out your bank to play f2p again. I also find it painfully boring wandering around the same landscape i'ved traversed for the past 7 years now. It's almost like I starve for new content every time I log on F2p, I just can't handle it anymore. To all your F2pers out there, enjoy it guys, I spent a very very long time crossing that landscape, met many good people and had many MANY good times there.
  15. I agree with just about everything said above supporting this idea. Fletching is one of thee oldest skills and one of the most ignored ones at that. On a given day I can gaurentee you that a very minute portion of the population can be found actually training it, nevermind gathering supplies. Since we've moved away from Runescape Classic, members have gotten 4 (or 5?) completely new skills to slave through. Why not give back to the loyal population one of the orginal forgotten skills? Anyway, i support.
  16. I actually use a spottier cape, however no boots. I have temple of ikov set as a recomedation activity and everything haha just haven't gotten around to it :P maybe I'll do that later. Is this stealing creation thing Like a minigame? Where can I find a guide root on tip.it? Or should I cave and use jagexs knoledge base.. >.< edit: found a guide, thanks guys
  17. Congrats sir! quite in aceivement indeed. Ive still yet to get a 99 cape, Im still aiming at the hunting one :P only 8 more grueling levels to go
  18. Isnt high agility required for that? I considered it when i first started but realised my agility is complete fail at 44 :PI also realise better agility would mean longer energy. Where do you steal creation armor from?
  19. Heres the scoop, I just got back from a 2 year break and have taken a particular liking to hunting imps on Mos Le'Harmless. Anyway, Ive been running around in Dhide armor and find that the jungle horrors do a considerable amount of damage, putting me near death by the time I'm out of energy potions. I mean its no big deal, but if there is other armor the offers better defense I'd like to know. You see the problem is im running constantly and don't have a terrorbird therefore the more energy saved the better, so the armor needs to be lightweight as well. So my question is, what kind of armor offers the most amount of defense however is still considered lightweight. If Im right on the money with the Dhide then so be it, just wondering if there's better. Thanks!
  20. Come back from a 2 year break and find out that hunting is one helluva money maker! 91 hunting was the last thing I did before I left, and one of the best. Just caught me my first of many :)
  21. Despite the malarkey behind Jagex making Tip.it only a gold site I must say they've definitely come a long way from the beginning when fan sites were considered taboo and they wanted nothing to do with them. However, now they're actually accepting they fact that fan sites exist and are taking steps to make a humble relationship between corporate gurus and fan site advocates. I'll hold my applaud till Tip.it moves up the tiers, although I will give credit where credit is due. It's good to see they're thinking outside the box a little.

  23. Very well said and thought out. I found everything that you touched upon to be very on par and very thought provoking. Mostly because all of the principals you outlined applied to myself as a player, and the exact reasoning why I left (fun factor was gone) and why I came back (looking for that fun factor again). I really enjoyed your comparison of money and happiness to a players 25gp total value you have when you get off Tutorial island and the sheer amplitude of fun that you have when you first start out. I find that those moments when I first got attached to this game irreplaceable and i think that's whats always bringing me back. I desire to feel the same way I did playing this game as I did when I first started playing on RSC. Although I do find that money has some impact on your happiness level because depending on your overall total wealth kind of limits you to what you can do in the game. If you have a higher GP value you can do more leisurely things such as Boss hunting and powerskilling. However if you have less of a face value it not only limits you to the activities that you do but also in the skills that you can train (construction is almost completely out of the question if you lack in material wealth). Thus it puts players in this "rock and a hard spot scenario" where despite not wanting to train something, may not really have a choice, because they need to make money to reach the skills they want to train. All in all though Runescape is extremely diverse and vast and I'm completely positive that there is something to do so that everybody is happy, despite how much money they may have. If not, don't play :)
