____ Posted September 30, 2006 Share Posted September 30, 2006 Erm, Sony has a built-in Blu-Ray player which is worth the $600USD price tag on its own. To use HD-DVD with a 360 you need to purchase a $200USD external drive. Add that to the $400USD you paid for the system and you're paying the same price as you would for a PS3.Considering that neither format will be the confirmed format or in widespread use for another 10 years at least, the built-in Blu-Ray is not worth the $600 price tag. By the time the victorious format is widely accepted, players will be as cheap as DVD players now. Pick one up for under $50. And on the issue of the PSP being a mistake, it was more so the "portable media center" concept that killed it. They tried to do too much at once, and then found they were losing support left, right and center. UMD movies flopped hardcore. Homebrew did a better job at putting games out for the PSP than Sony did so there was more lost funds. And even the UMD format for games wasn't a smart idea.
