I've seen on some people's avatars...signatures, etc. where the background, or some part of it is invisible! I know I've asked this question before, but the answers I got were invalid...they didn't help :shame: . So, now, I am being a tad bit more specific....How can I, if I can, make the background/white areas on my drawings "invisible" on ADOBE IMAGEREADY?

You have that that in your sig already lol

 

 

 

all you need to do is make the canvas, then make whichever areas you want transparent, then save the file as a .gif, no other file extension works

I didn't make the sig. Woopidoo2 did.

While this topic is up...May i ask if theres a way to do it on MSpaint?

I know for a fact that you cannot do it in MSPaint, but I think when you download the trial of Photoshop CS2, you get imageready free, so if you can make things transparent that way, then you got a free way to do it. But I still don't know how! :l

-Make a new transparent layer (you know, the grid of grey and white?)

 

 

 

-Delete the backround layer so only the transparent layer exists.

 

 

 

-Draw in that tranparent layer as much as you want, anypart that shows the grey and white grid will be transparent when you are done.

 

 

 

-Save as a .gif

 

 

 

-Upload you pic.

erm, well, when you go to save it make sure the background is transparent, with no hidden layers. Like this one, look at my layers box.

and when you go to save it as a gif make sure the transparency is ticked. Other than that I have no idea why yours has a red background.. :-k

well I got photoshop CS2 : . well almost every program you could think of, but I do spend most of my time on paint, I must admit. =P~

i know you can do it with paint.net, is very simple, just deleat the areas you dont want (with select the area and deleat or use the erasor) then once thats done save as png or gif and there you go =)

Yea, I heard you could do it in Paint.Net but I think that guy was asking for MSPaint, which is good, but basic.

I heard that in the new windows vista, paint has been totally updated to photoshop standards, but after a look I don't think so. But maybe they added a transparency option?
