Prayer skill update

Featured Replies

Been playing runescape for about a year now, and I think that prayer needs a complete overhaul.

At the moment, I only really use it for Protect from Melee, protect from range etc.

Jagex could do so much more with this as a skill.

It'd be great if they introduced some new quests so that you could become a priest for a particular god. Once you're accepted, you then get a different set of prayer spells linked to that god's alignment.

Prayers could be more attack based for one god, defensive and healing for sarrodim (?) etc.

This would also then give them scope to introduce future quests to raise your rank within the relevant church (novice, lay priest, pastor, vicar, dean, bishop, arch-bishop etc). With the completion of each quest and an increase in rank, new powers / more potent spells would become available to the player.

If you'd joined a particular religion and didn't like the spells, you could resign and start at the bottom in another religion.

To me, this would actually provide an incentive to bury bones and work on the prayer skill.

How does this sound?

great idea like when you beat mage arena choice you pick between the 3 gods and get there spell and cape, but i definitley wouldnt mind some new prayers

Ya it sounds good but i use alot more prayers besides protect: Retribution, Eagle Eye, Steel Skin, Ultimate Strength, Incredible Reflexes, Protect Item, Mystic Might, And rapid restore on stat reducing things. Jagex already came out with 6 new prayers, just learn to use the ones you have more effectivley.

If at first you dont suceed, then you fail.

+1... NO, +15!!!

I mean it - the only useful prayers are the 3 protect ones, and, occasinally, the booster ones. We need more uses for prayer! I support it! Both hands up!

However, you should give some more info on your suggestion. Maybe some pics, too?

thats a kinda good idea...

been playing for a year but still don't know which gods are linked to what :-s ? Sara is def. Zammy is attack, guthix is both. Anyway, it'd be nice actually...Pray at an altar and just like ancient magicks, go to a different set of prayers! That could work.. :-k

  • 1 month later...

Great idea. Does F2p get it too?

Thank the world for spell checkers.

This wouldn't be a bad idea to add to the game... Whether it be members only (as it likely would be), or if it were for all players.

jwrm22: 4816th > 99 cooking 100% f2p !1172 total! + 140mil in items.

i dont play anymore... i think rs is ruined

The other guys suggest was new prayers and a system to make the protection better. This guys suggestion is to make three different prayer list and you get more prayers when you level up. I like this prayer update the best out of all the ones i seen.
