Ok, here is my problem. I cant start my car, when I insert the key in keyhole, all the light come up, the sound of engine check goes :ding.,ding,ding. But however, when I turn the key to start, it donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t start. All the light go off, radio stops working, and I turn my key again, no light came up. But when I shut the engine cover hard, the battery came back. And when I try to start again, it canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t start again. Then it repeats. So can anyone tell me what the problem is? i need to use the car fast so um.. help as soon as u can!!!!!!!!!!!!! #-o :ohnoes: BY THE WAY: MY CAR IS A 2001 TOYOTA CAMRY

I'd say battery.

battery is all fine, it's full, otherwise it wont start the ding ding ding sound and wont start teh radio.

I'd say alternator, since the slamming of the hood had an effect.

 

 

 

I hope it's the battery, since those are not too expensive. A new alternator would run $600 bucks.

Well I had a similar issue that my battery couldn't hold a charge. Radio would start, but the battery didn't have enough in it to fully start the car. It was caused by tons of corrosion on the terminal(s)

The same exact thing happen to me while I was at the Indy 500 a few years back. We had to get a jump start and ran up to Meijer to buy a new battery. What better place to have car troubles? :

erem.. my battery just burned my hand!!! now it hurts... so i can say that the battery is full... might it be some wire smewhere disconnected? believe me... i can't use my right hand now... even it's an accident.. but.... if a battery can burn my hand so hard, it shoould b full....

You don't even know what "jumping" a car is? That, changing a tire, and changing oil are the three most basic things everyone should know how to do as a requirment to drive. Not even knowing what it is is worse. Personally I don't think you are qualified to drive.

FYI, jumping a car means taking jumper cables and attaching it to your battery from another source of power to give it a start.

lol when did ur car have it's last service, and do u check ur oil and radiator...tht would be a start...

Dude that battery contains acid. It has a pH of 1. Deadly :ohnoes:

Yeah a Ph of 1 is super acidic, 14 is basic, so yeah that stuff can give you a major chemical burn, anyways. Have you thought of the sparkplug? Sometimes those blow, and you need tog et a new one. Don;t worry though, they're arent expensive at all.
