fgfuyfyuiuy0
When I was walking to school today there was a dead cat on the sidewalk as I was walking to my bus stop. Well, I didn't know if it was dead or not, so I nudged it with my foot. It was like touching a solid block of ice, but the cat didn't move :? I was wondering if I should ask the people who's house it was in-front of it, but there was a couple things wrong. 1. I was going to miss the bus. 2. It was 7:20 in the morning. 3. I didn't know if it was alright to walk up to their door, and say "Hey, there's a dead cat on the sidewalk in-front of your house. I was just wondering if it was yours." I ran to my bus figuring if it was still there I'd do something about it. I just wanted them to maybe find out on their own and not have someone show them it. I got home, and yes, the cat was still there. They weren't home, and just now I saw the car pull into their driveway, and they didn't even give the cat a glance. I wrote on here to see if I should or not. Any suggestions, and anyway to approach the subject? Thanks. I <3 Gears of War 2. knives669
Yeah. You should probably go over there and ask them if they had noticed it. What a delicate situation.

fgfuyfyuiuy0
Yeah. You should probably go over there and ask them if they had noticed it. What a delicate situation. Hmmm, that sounds better than just asking them if it was theirs :-k I <3 Gears of War 2. Hmmm, that sounds better than just asking them if it was theirs :-k Yeah. Just knock on their door and say something along the lines of, "Hey, sorry to disturb you, but I noticed a dead cat near your house and I was wondering if you had noticed it as well. The poor thing doesn't need to just lie there."

gonpost
The cat was solid as a block because it was in rigor mortis, meaning that "Assuming mild temperatures, rigor usually sets in about 3-4 hours after clinical death, with full rigor being in effect at about 12 hours, and eventually subsiding to relaxation at about 36 hours" Poor thing... Anywho, I'd go tell them if I were you. Even if it is their cat, it's much better to know that the pet died than wondering if it is lost forever. I just wonder how the heck the cat died there...rather odd. Runescape Name: "unbug07"Expand your mind.

fgfuyfyuiuy0
Ok, I said: "Hey, sorry to disturb you, but I noticed a dead cat near your house and I was wondering if you had noticed it as well. The poor thing doesn't need to just lie there." Copyright of Kayla669 (a.k.a Knives669) The lady stared at me for a bit, almost like confused, then she asked me to describe the cat. I did, and she ran to the sidewalk. The cat was theirs :( She called out her husband and he had to pick up the cat. They said "Thank you", and they were talking about surprising their kids with another cat, and probably break the news. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. But what's funny is it's wierd how parent's break news to kids and make things better? I <3 Gears of War 2. knives669
Aaaww... that's really sad that it was theirs. :( You did the right thing though. I think it was better for you to tell them than for them to see it possibly days later after other natural processes.
