Hello , i want to tell you a bit of background to my story before you help me out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My name is andrew, i am from new zealand. I first started runescape when my brothers friend came over and he went to runescape and i made my first account. i have no clue what the name was but i started around a month before you could choose out of ranger mage warrior adventurer miner etc. i made many accounts. i do not no why. but i have never kept one single account.. i just kept making accounts. the main problem was that i jsut didnt like the name of my account. another one was im walking around and i see a person hitting really high (pure fighting) so i make a new account to be like that.. then i see a mage.. so i make a mage. ive told my self that its only a name. theres no point starting again. but my mind just keeps telling me otherwise. it has frustrated me for years. to this day i think i have made over 5000 accounts. but i just cant stop. i just want to make a final account and be done with starting again. but its not easy. i need some help.I know your probably think im crazy. but if you click on my name and then go to the topics ive made. you will see ive made around 12 character name threads in the poast 6 months. "starting again is a real big problem for me. i want to stop. Please give some advice. i dont want to leave runescape. but starting again is wasteing my cash. and just bassically wasteing time training. please help me please.

Try setting yourself a goal, and stay with the account at least until you finish the goal. Also, try to think the benefits of having just an account. If you had accumluted all your work into one account, it might be level 80 at the moment.

Like meol said, set a goal. I usually make a blog here (by the way, visit it) or my favorite way, a checklist on a peice of paper. I have somewhat of the same addiction as you, except on a much lower level, having 6 accounts total.

Seriously im not jokeing.. ive made over 5000 accounts. back in classic i used to make over 1 a day :shock: . yes i am a [wagon] :x

Look for something you have liked particularly in your old accounts.

 

 

 

Or if you like more than one try making a combination of one.

 

 

 

It's still not a pure character then but remember IT's ALL IN YOUR HEAD.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As the guy before me said, set a goal to reach something big. Have you really wanted to fish sharks? be a good staker at the duel arena? do barrows for money? Have fun at Castle Wars? Have really high combats stats (Pest Control)? Be able to spend cash without worrying about how much something costs? Have a specific weapon or set of armour?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Whatever you want to do set a big goal for yourself and then branch it off into little sub-sections. Little checkpoints on your way to that goal.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For example if you wanted to be a level 94 Ancient Magics character, First train to 30 using basic attacks such as fire strike, then continue this until about 55 magic. Then you can start alching things like yew longbows. Then go for 70 magic as its a nice even number. Then go for 84 magic for Ice Blitz to see how cool it is (haha). Then go for 90 and finaly go to 94. If doesn't have to be in this way I just wanted you to see how to split it up into little mini-goals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My suggestion is to find an origonal name in it, maybe not even a real world, and have it have no numbers. Make it something neutral though, not something like "cheesy gold fish" that you will regreat in a year or so as you get older. I went the same approach with my character R0binhood Jr. I completely fell in love with the name. The problem was I wanted my name to be Robin Hood Jr but I had one space too many. So I cut it down to Robinhood Jr, which gave me a "name already taken" message. I replaced the 0 hoping that I wouldn't instantly be called a pure, and was happy with the result.

Don't be a pure. Just train all of your stats equally for awhile. Also, start out f2p, so you have a smaller horizon to choose from. Make an original name, stick with it and you'll do fine. Don't worry about goals, so much, just play for fun for a bit. Do a few quests, train a few skills, that's it. Remember that you shouls just try to have fun.

Just don't do a pure train skills as you feel. Get bored at one do another. Plus I'm from NZ too so pm me if you need help, as we should be on at same time.

Well thank you for your help peoples.. now to find an original name before the halloween event :shock: this is going to be hard. any help on where to get an original name

Just remind yourself that almost all pures have main accounts. And on main accounts you WANT to have all of your skills as high as possible. So focusing on your main account should help you get over your starting over problem. Then your only problem is the name. No one can tell you a good name, what's a good name to someone is a horrible name to someone else.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

With that being said, here are a few helpful suggestions:

 

 

 

No meaningless numbers (I H8 U is fine, but RANDOM GUY12345 is really bad)

 

 

 

Dont do something topical. You will really regret this later on when the fad is over.

 

 

 

Dont make a name that is easy to insult.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Personally I picked a named that uses all the letters of my last name, added a few other letters and made it into a name that sounds Midieval.
