Halo Signature For My Friend

I brushed the background and then created a new layer and pasted the render until it filled the background - merged them together then added a radial blur from where I was going to place the render. I then created a new layer and put the render in the origin of the radial blur and used the blur tool to soften the edges of the render and added some text and applied inner and outer glows to the text and arranged it to follow the blur direction. Yes there isn't a border 'cos I haven't learned how to do them so they look fairly good so I feel it's better to have a borderless signature than have an ugly signature. My friend likes it but I have still to reduce the file size.

Any constructive critism is appreciated.

I used PhotoShop CS2 for this signature

The attempt at blending was ok, but not the best. You really need some lighting, depth, flow and to work on your text definately.

Try using C4D renders in your backgrounds, then smudging/blending them in. Also, try giving the sig more depth, it's just flat, give it life.

Finally, the text. You relly need to work on it! Just try use simple fonts in about 12px, make it apart of the sig though, then say, write the same thing and position it like a bit up and right of the original text in a much bigger font size at low opacity and low fill.

Oh and for a border, just a nice 1px black outline would be fine...or even just a 4px line going across the top and bottom.

Hope that helps.

It did however, a couple of questions:

1 Would most render sites have C4D renders?

2 Could you recommend any tutorials for borders and signature making in general?

Thanks,

No, I haven't removed it but it's fairly large so it might take a while to load depending on your internet speed.

I'll pm you right now :P

radial blur bad. try some basic brushing, then try filters, go to CGFX and get tuts, try lots of things - but stay away from radial blur, at least for awhile.

Radial blur isn't bad... If you know what you're doing.
